Setup and Door Panel Assembly
The ARK DESIGN barn door panel features pre-drilled holes for straightforward assembly. Follow these steps to prepare your door panel:
- Unpack the door panel components and lay them on a clean, flat, and protected surface.
- Align the pre-drilled holes of the door panel sections.
- Secure the door panel sections together using the provided fasteners according to the detailed assembly instructions included in your package. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
- Attach the handle to the door panel at the desired height and position using the provided screws.
- Install the anti-jump blocks on the top edge of the door panel, ensuring they are positioned to prevent the door from lifting off the track.
The door is constructed from CARB P2 certified MDF board, offering a stable and durable structure with a waterproof and scratch-resistant white paint finish.

Installation Instructions
Proper installation is crucial for the safe and smooth operation of your barn door. It is recommended to have at least two people for installation.
1. Determine Track Placement and Clearances
- Measure your door opening width and height.
- Ensure you have adequate clearance above the door opening for the track and hangers (minimum ceiling clearance 90 inches).
- Verify sufficient wall space next to the opening for the door to slide open completely (minimum inside jam to wall clearance for a 36" door is 40 3/8 inches).
- Confirm minimum floor clearance (79 inches for an 84-inch door).

2. Mount the Track
- Locate wall studs above your door opening. If studs do not align with track mounting points, a solid header board (at least 1x4 inch, not included) must be securely installed into studs first.
- Mark the desired height for the track. The track should be mounted at a height that allows the door to clear the floor by approximately 1/2 inch.
- Drill pilot holes for the track mounting screws.
- Attach the track to the wall using the provided wall screws and spacers. Ensure the track is level and securely fastened.
3. Install Hangers on Door Panel
- Attach the two hangers (bent straps) to the top edge of the assembled door panel using the strap bolts. Ensure they are evenly spaced and securely tightened.
4. Hang the Door
- Carefully lift the door panel and hook the hanger wheels onto the track.
- Slide the door back and forth gently to ensure smooth movement.
5. Install Door Stops and Floor Guide
- Position the door stops at each end of the track to prevent the door from sliding off. Tighten them securely.
- Place the floor guide on the floor directly below the door. Mark the mounting holes.
- Drill pilot holes and secure the floor guide to the floor using the provided anchors and screws. The floor guide will keep the bottom of the door stable.
Operating Instructions
To open the barn door, gently slide it along the track until it reaches the desired open position, resting against the door stop. To close, slide the door back until it covers the opening. Avoid forcing the door or allowing it to slam against the stops.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: The door's waterproof white paint finish can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.
- Hardware Check: Periodically inspect all screws, bolts, and fasteners on the track, hangers, and handle. Tighten any loose connections to ensure safe and smooth operation.
- Track and Wheels: Keep the track free of dust and debris. If the door's movement becomes stiff, clean the track and the hanger wheels. Lubrication is generally not required for these systems, but if needed, use a silicone-based lubricant sparingly on the wheels.
- Floor Guide: Ensure the floor guide remains securely fastened and free of obstructions.
Troubleshooting
- Door is difficult to slide:
- Check the track for obstructions or debris.
- Ensure the track is level. An unlevel track can cause resistance.
- Verify that the hanger wheels are clean and moving freely.
- Check the floor guide for proper alignment and ensure it's not binding the door.
- Door wobbles at the bottom:
- Ensure the floor guide is securely installed and properly engaged with the door.
- Door makes noise when sliding:
- Inspect the track and wheels for dirt or damage. Clean as necessary.
- Check all hardware connections for tightness.
- Door does not close completely:
- Adjust the position of the door stops on the track.
