4. Safety Information

WARNING: Electrical shock hazard. Installation and maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel.

  • Always disconnect power before installing, servicing, or removing the contactor.
  • Ensure all wiring complies with local and national electrical codes.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with electrical systems.
  • Verify that the contactor's ratings match the application requirements.
  • Do not operate the contactor if it appears damaged.

5. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safe and reliable operation of the contactor.

5.1 Mounting

  1. Select a suitable mounting location that is free from excessive vibration, moisture, and corrosive atmospheres.
  2. Ensure adequate ventilation around the contactor to prevent overheating.
  3. Mount the contactor securely using appropriate fasteners through the designated mounting holes.

5.2 Wiring

Before wiring, ensure all power sources are disconnected and locked out.

  1. Connect the main power supply lines to terminals 1 L1, 3 L2, and 5 L3.
  2. Connect the load lines to terminals 2 T1, 4 T2, and 6 T3.
  3. Connect the control circuit wires to the coil terminals (A1 and A2). The specific voltage for the coil is indicated on the contactor label.
  4. Utilize the auxiliary contacts (1NC & 1NO) as required for control logic, interlocking, or signaling. Refer to the wiring diagram on the contactor for terminal identification.
  5. Ensure all terminal screws are tightened to the manufacturer's specified torque to prevent loose connections and arcing.

6. Operating Instructions

The MOBYAT AX260-30-11 Contactor operates by energizing its coil, which causes the main contacts to close, thereby connecting the power supply to the load. When the coil is de-energized, the contacts open, disconnecting the load.

  1. After installation and verification of all wiring, apply control voltage to the coil terminals (A1 and A2).
  2. The contactor will audibly click as the main contacts close.
  3. To de-energize the load, remove the control voltage from the coil. The contactor will click again as the contacts open.
  4. Monitor the contactor during initial operation to ensure proper functioning and absence of abnormal noise or heating.

7. Maintenance

Regular inspection and maintenance can extend the lifespan of the contactor and ensure safe operation.

7.1 Routine Checks (Perform with power disconnected)

  • Inspect for any signs of physical damage, such as cracks, discoloration, or loose parts.
  • Check all terminal connections for tightness. Retighten if necessary.
  • Clean any dust or debris from the contactor's exterior using a dry, non-conductive cloth or compressed air.
  • Verify that the moving parts operate smoothly without obstruction.

7.2 Contact Inspection (Perform with power disconnected)

While the contactor is designed for durability, excessive arcing or frequent operation under heavy loads can cause contact wear. If possible, inspect the main contacts for pitting or erosion. Severely worn contacts should prompt replacement of the contactor.

8. Troubleshooting

This section provides guidance for common issues. For complex problems, consult a qualified electrician.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Contactor does not energize (no click)No control voltage to coil (A1/A2)
