Setup and Assembly
This awning features a clamp system for easy installation without drilling. It is recommended that two people assemble the awning.
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and lay them out. Check against the 'Package Contents' list.
- Assemble Vertical Support Poles: Connect the sections of the vertical support poles. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Attach Awning Frame: Secure the awning frame to the vertical support poles according to the provided diagrams. Pay close attention to the orientation of the awning fabric roller and the drop arms.
- Position the Awning: Place the assembled awning in the desired location. The vertical poles should be positioned between a stable floor and ceiling/overhang.
- Secure with Clamp System: Extend the vertical poles using the adjustable mechanism until they are firmly clamped between the floor and the upper surface. Ensure the poles are vertical and stable. Adjust the tension as needed to prevent movement.

Operating Instructions
The tectake Retractable Awning is operated manually using a hand crank.
- Attaching the Hand Crank: Insert the hook of the hand crank into the loop on the awning's roller mechanism.
- Extending the Awning: Turn the hand crank clockwise to extend the awning fabric. Continue turning until the awning reaches the desired extension or is fully extended. Do not force the crank if resistance is met.
- Retracting the Awning: Turn the hand crank counter-clockwise to retract the awning fabric. Continue turning until the awning is fully retracted and secured.
- Adjusting Tilt Angle: The drop arms are height-adjustable, allowing you to customize the tilt angle of the awning for optimal shade or privacy. Loosen the adjustment knobs on the drop arms, set the desired height, and re-tighten securely.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life of your awning.
- Cleaning the Fabric: Clean the awning fabric with mild soap and water. Use a soft brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry completely before retracting. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Frame Cleaning: Wipe down the metal frame with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust.
- Inspection: Periodically check all bolts, screws, and clamping mechanisms to ensure they are tight and secure. Inspect the fabric for tears, fraying, or mildew.
- Winter Storage: For prolonged periods of non-use, especially during winter or severe weather, it is recommended to fully retract the awning and, if possible, store it in a dry, protected area.
Troubleshooting
- Awning does not extend/retract smoothly:
Check for obstructions in the mechanism or along the fabric path. Ensure the hand crank is properly engaged. Lubricate moving parts with a silicone-based spray if necessary.
- Awning feels unstable after setup:
Re-check the tension of the vertical support poles. Ensure they are firmly clamped between the floor and the upper surface. Verify that all assembly materials are tightened correctly.
- Fabric sags or collects water:
Adjust the tilt angle of the drop arms to ensure proper water runoff. Ensure the fabric is taut when extended. If sagging persists, inspect the frame for any bending or damage.
