5. Setup and Assembly

Assembly requires two adults. Follow these steps carefully.

5.1. Prepare the Fabric and Roller Tube

1. Lay the awning fabric flat on a clean, soft surface.
2. Assemble the main roller tube sections by connecting them securely.
3. Slide the fabric onto the main roller tube, ensuring it is centered and aligned. Secure the fabric to the tube using the provided screws.

5.2. Assemble the Support Poles and Arms

4. Assemble the telescopic support poles. Attach the adjustable arms to the main roller tube using the clamps and fasteners.
5. Connect the crank mechanism to the designated point on the roller tube.

5.3. Final Installation

6. Position the assembled awning in the desired location. Ensure the top of the telescopic poles are securely pressed against a stable overhead surface (e.g., balcony ceiling, window frame).
7. Adjust the height of the telescopic poles by turning the screw-on feet until the awning is firmly secured and stable. The adjustable height range is 0-3 cm for fine-tuning.
8. Ensure the awning is level and the arms are correctly angled for optimal shade or privacy.

6. Operating Instructions

The tectake retractable awning is operated manually using the provided crank handle.

1. To Extend the Awning: Insert the crank handle into the designated loop on the side of the awning. Turn the handle clockwise to extend the fabric.
2. To Retract the Awning: Turn the crank handle counter-clockwise to retract the fabric.
3. Adjust the angle of the arms as needed to achieve the desired shade or privacy.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: The water-resistant polyester fabric is easy to clean. Use a mild soap solution and a soft brush or cloth. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to air dry completely before retracting.
• Frame Care: The lacquered steel and aluminum frame can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the finish.
• Seasonal Storage: For prolonged periods of non-use or during harsh weather conditions (e.g., winter, strong winds), it is recommended to retract the awning fully. If possible, disassemble and store in a dry, protected area to extend its lifespan.
• Inspection: Periodically check all screws, bolts, and connections to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten as necessary. Inspect the fabric for any tears or damage.

8. Troubleshooting

• Awning not extending/retracting smoothly: Check the crank mechanism for any obstructions or damage. Ensure the fabric is not caught or misaligned.
• Awning feels unstable: Verify that the telescopic poles are fully extended and securely locked in place. Ensure the screw-on feet are tightly adjusted against the top and bottom surfaces.
• Fabric sagging: Check the tension of the adjustable arms. Adjust them to provide adequate support to the fabric.
• Water pooling on fabric: Ensure the awning is installed with a sufficient slope to allow water runoff. Adjust the angle of the arms if necessary.
