Introduction

Safety Information

WARNING:

  • This product contains moving parts. Read all assembly and usage instructions carefully before installation and operation.
  • Ensure the installation is secure and capable of supporting the awning's weight.
  • Avoid deploying the awning in unfavorable weather conditions (strong winds, heavy rain) to prevent damage or injury.
  • Keep the product out of reach of children and pets.

Package Contents

Before beginning assembly, verify that all components are present and undamaged. The package should contain:

  • 1x Clamp Awning (fabric and main frame)
  • Mounting Hardware (screws, telescopic rods, feet)
  • Assembly Instructions (this manual)

Note: No spare parts are included. Handle all components with care.

Setup and Assembly

Assembly requires two adults and approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Ensure you have adequate space for assembly.

  1. Unpack and Organize: Carefully unpack all components. Sort and identify each part according to the provided diagram in the printed instructions to save time.
  2. Assemble Crossbars: Begin by assembling the horizontal crossbars of the awning frame.
  3. Attach Telescopic Poles: Connect the telescopic poles to the main awning structure. These poles allow for height adjustment.
  4. Install Feet: Secure the screw-in feet to the bottom of the telescopic poles. These non-slip plastic caps protect surfaces and provide stability.
  5. Position the Awning: Place the assembled awning in the desired location. The no-drill clamping mechanism allows for quick and adjustable installation without permanent fixings.
  6. Adjust Height: Extend the telescopic poles to the desired height, ranging from 211 cm to 304 cm. Ensure both poles are adjusted evenly for stability.
  7. Secure Clamping Mechanism: Tighten the clamping mechanism to firmly secure the awning between the floor and ceiling/overhang. Ensure it is stable and does not wobble.

Operating Instructions

The tectake retractable awning is designed for ease of use, providing flexible shade and privacy.

  • Deploying the Awning: Use the integrated crank handle to extend the awning fabric. Turn the handle clockwise to deploy and counter-clockwise to retract. The crank handle can be installed on either side for optimal adaptation.
  • Adjusting the Angle: The awning's inclination angle can be adjusted from diagonal to vertical, allowing it to function as both sun protection and a privacy screen (brise-vue).
  • Height Adjustment: The telescopic poles allow for height adjustments between 211 cm and 304 cm to suit various situations and preferences.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and appearance of your awning.

  • Cleaning the Fabric: The water-resistant polyester fabric is easy to clean. Use a mild soap solution and a soft brush or cloth to remove dirt. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry completely before retracting. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Frame Care: The powder-coated steel and aluminum frame can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Check for any signs of rust or wear periodically.
  • Seasonal Storage: For prolonged periods of non-use or during severe weather conditions (e.g., winter), it is recommended to retract the awning fully.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your awning, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Awning not stable: Ensure the telescopic poles are fully extended and the clamping mechanism is securely tightened. Verify that the feet are firmly placed on a stable surface.
  • Difficulty extending/retracting: Check for any obstructions in the mechanism or fabric. Ensure the crank handle is properly engaged. Lubricate moving parts if necessary with a silicone-based spray.
  • Fabric sagging or uneven: Re-check the tension of the fabric and the alignment of the support arms. Ensure the height adjustments are even on both sides.
