6. Cleaning and Maintenance

6.1 Inner Cooking Pot

The 6-quart inner cooking pot has a toxin-free nonstick ceramic coating, making it exceptionally easy to clean. It is dishwasher safe for added convenience. For best results and to prolong the life of the nonstick coating, hand washing with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge is recommended.

6.2 Lid and Gasket

The lid and its silicone gasket should be cleaned after each use. The gasket is simple to remove for thorough cleaning and can be reinstalled easily. Wash with warm, soapy water. Ensure the steam release valve and float valve are clear of any food debris.

6.3 Condensation Collector

The condensation collector, located at the back of the unit, should be emptied and cleaned regularly to prevent water buildup. It is easily detachable for cleaning.

6.4 Exterior Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the Dream Cooker base unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Unit Not Powering On:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the unit and a working electrical outlet.
    • Check if the outlet is functional by plugging in another appliance.
    • If the unit still does not power on after checking connections, contact customer support.
  • Pressure Not Building:
    • Verify the lid is properly closed and locked.
    • Ensure the silicone gasket is correctly seated and free from damage or debris.
    • Check that the steam release valve is in the sealed position (if applicable for manual models) or functioning correctly for automatic release.
    • Ensure sufficient liquid is added to the inner pot as required by the recipe.
  • Food Sticking to Inner Pot:
    • Although nonstick, always use a small amount of cooking oil or butter when searing or sauteing to prevent sticking.
    • Avoid using metal utensils that can scratch the nonstick coating. Use silicone or wooden utensils.
