1. Introduction and Overview

The Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Pro is a high-performance, multi-fuel long gun light designed for tactical and outdoor applications. It features a robust construction, versatile power options, and user-friendly controls, making it an essential tool for various lighting needs.

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Pro is designed for multi-fuel operation, accepting either one Streamlight SL-B26 Li-ion rechargeable battery pack or two CR123A lithium batteries.

1. Unscrew the tail cap of the light by rotating it counter-clockwise.
2. Insert the battery(ies) with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the light.
3. Screw the tail cap back on by rotating it clockwise until it is fully tightened.

2.2 Mounting the Light

The light comes with integrated rail clamps for easy attachment to MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rails and is compatible with M-LOK rail systems using the included M-LOK kit.

1. Identify the desired mounting position on your rail system.
2. Align the light's rail clamp with the rail.
3. Use the thumbscrew to tighten the clamp securely onto the rail. For M-LOK systems, attach the M-LOK adapter first using the provided tool, then mount the light.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Jack-Cap Tail Switch Operation

The unique Jack-Cap tail switch provides operational redundancy, allowing control via a push-button or a remote pressure switch.

• Push-Button Operation: Press the button on the tail cap for momentary activation. Press fully until it clicks for constant on. Press again to turn off.
• Remote Pressure Switch Operation: Connect a compatible remote pressure switch to the port on the Jack-Cap. The remote switch typically provides momentary activation.

3.2 TEN-TAP Programming

The ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Pro features TEN-TAP Programming, allowing you to select one of three user-selectable programs:

• Program 1 (Factory Default): High / Strobe / Low
• Program 2: High Only
• Program 3: Low / High

To change programs:

1. Ensure the light is in the "Off" position.
2. Tap the switch rapidly 9 times (within 0.4 seconds per tap) and hold it down on the 10th tap.
3. The light will flash to indicate the current program number (1, 2, or 3 flashes).
4. Continue holding the switch until the light turns off. Release the switch.
5. The light is now set to the next program in the sequence. Repeat the process to cycle through programs.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Charging (SL-B26 USB Battery)

If using the SL-B26 USB rechargeable battery, charge it regularly to ensure optimal performance.

1. Remove the SL-B26 battery from the light.
2. Connect the included 40" USB cord to the battery's charging port and to a USB power source.
3. The battery's indicator light will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).

4.2 Cleaning and Care

• Clean the lens with a soft, clean cloth. Avoid abrasive materials.
• Periodically clean and lubricate the O-rings and threads with silicone grease to maintain water resistance.
• Keep battery contacts clean to ensure reliable operation.

4.3 Water Resistance

The ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Pro is designed with varying levels of water resistance:

• IP54-rated: Water-resistant when a remote pressure switch is installed.
• IP67-rated: Waterproof when used without a remote pressure switch (i.e., with the standard Jack-Cap tail switch only).
