Your Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Pro package includes the light, Jack-Cap tail switch, momentary pressure switch, hardware kit, 25mm Allen wrench, two CR123A batteries, and an M-Lok Kit.
Battery Installation
The ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Pro is a multi-fuel device. It can be powered by either two CR123A lithium batteries (included) or one Streamlight SL-B26 Rechargeable USB Battery (sold separately).
- Unscrew the tail cap from the light body.
- Insert the batteries with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the light.
- Screw the tail cap back on securely.
Mounting the Light
The light comes with a rail-grabber that supports both MIL-STD 1913 (Picatinny) rails and M-LOK compatible rail systems. The Picatinny mount is pre-attached, and an M-LOK mount is included for alternative attachment.
- For Picatinny Rail: Use the pre-attached mount. Loosen the thumbscrew, position the light on your rail, and tighten the thumbscrew firmly by hand.
- For M-LOK Rail: Remove the pre-attached Picatinny mount by unscrewing the two screws. Attach the M-LOK mount using the provided screws and Allen wrench. Position the light on your M-LOK rail and secure it.

Attaching the Pressure Switch
The remote pressure switch provides momentary operation and can be attached to the Jack-Cap tail switch port.
- Remove the protective cover from the remote switch port on the Jack-Cap tail switch.
- Insert the pressure switch connector firmly into the port.
- Route the pressure switch cable along your firearm and secure it using the provided zip ties or 3M double-sided tape.

Switch Operation
The ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Pro features a versatile Jack-Cap tail switch with both a push-button and a remote pressure switch port.
- Push-Button: Press for momentary on, press and click for constant on.
- Remote Pressure Switch: Provides momentary operation when pressed.
TEN-TAP Programming
The light features TEN-TAP Programming, allowing you to select one of three user-selectable programs:
- High/Strobe (Factory Default): High output followed by Strobe.
- High Only: High output only.
- Low/High: Low output followed by High output.
To Reprogram:
- Ensure the light is OFF.
- Tap the tail switch 9 times rapidly (within 0.4 seconds per tap).
- On the 10th tap, hold the switch down. The light will cycle through the available programs.
- Release the switch when the desired program is active. The light will flash to confirm the new setting.
Maintenance
