4. Setup and Initial Charging

Before first use, it is crucial to fully charge your DEWALT DXAEJ14 unit. This ensures optimal performance and extends battery life.

4.1 Initial Charging Procedure

  1. Locate the AC charging cube and connect it to the unit's charging port.
  2. Plug the AC charging cube into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.
  3. Allow the unit to charge overnight (approximately 12-24 hours) for the first charge. The digital display will indicate charging progress.
  4. Once fully charged, disconnect the unit from the AC outlet.

Note: For optimal battery health, recharge the unit every 30 days when not in use. After each use, recharge the unit immediately overnight.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Jump Starting a Vehicle

The DEWALT DXAEJ14 can jump-start 12-Volt AGM, GEL, or WET batteries, including those in V8 engines, without the need for another vehicle.

  1. Ensure the vehicle's ignition is OFF and all accessories are unplugged.
  2. Connect the RED positive (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's battery.
  3. Connect the BLACK negative (-) clamp to a non-moving metal part of the vehicle's engine block or chassis, away from the battery and fuel lines. Do not connect directly to the negative battery terminal.
  4. The unit will automatically power on. If an improper connection is detected, the reverse polarity alarm will sound. Correct the connection immediately.
  5. Turn on the vehicle's ignition. If the vehicle does not start, wait 3-5 minutes and try again.
  6. Once the vehicle starts, disconnect the BLACK negative (-) clamp first, then the RED positive (+) clamp.

5.2 Using the Air Compressor

The integrated 120 PSI digital air compressor is suitable for inflating vehicle tires, sports equipment, and other inflatables.

  1. Attach the Sure Fit nozzle of the compressor hose to the item you wish to inflate. For sports equipment, use the provided needle adapter.
  2. Use the compressor control buttons on the unit to set the desired pressure.
  3. Press the "AIR" button to start the compressor. The digital display will show the current pressure.
  4. The compressor features an AUTOSTOP function, which will automatically shut off when the preset pressure is reached.
  5. The compressor also has a 10-minute auto shut-off timer to prevent damage from overheating if left on unintentionally.
  6. Once inflation is complete, disconnect the hose.

5.3 Charging Electronic Devices (USB Power Bank)

The unit is equipped with 15W USB-A and 25W USB-C ports for charging smartphones, tablets, and other electronic devices.

  1. Connect your device's charging cable to the appropriate USB-A or USB-C port on the unit.
  2. The unit will begin charging your device. Monitor your device's charging indicator.
