3. Zeroing the Sight

Zeroing your red dot sight is crucial for accuracy. This process should be performed at a safe shooting range.

  1. Set up a target at a known distance (e.g., 25 or 50 yards).
  2. Fire a group of shots while aiming at the center of the target.
  3. Observe the point of impact relative to your aim point.
  4. Use the windage (W) and elevation (E) adjustment turrets to move the point of impact. Each click adjusts the point of impact by 0.5 MOA.
    • To move the point of impact UP, turn the E (Elevation) turret counter-clockwise.
    • To move the point of impact DOWN, turn the E (Elevation) turret clockwise.
    • To move the point of impact RIGHT, turn the W (Windage) turret counter-clockwise.
    • To move the point of impact LEFT, turn the W (Windage) turret clockwise.
  5. Repeat firing and adjusting until your point of impact matches your aim point.

Operating the Sight

1. Power On/Off and Brightness Adjustment

The HS403B utilizes two buttons on the top of the housing for operation:

  • Press either the "+" or "-" button to turn the sight ON.
  • Press and hold the "-" button for 3 seconds to turn the sight OFF.
  • Press the "+" button to increase brightness.
  • Press the "-" button to decrease brightness.
  • The sight has 12 brightness settings: 10 for daylight and 2 for night vision.

2. Shake-Awake Technology

The Shake-Awake feature is designed to conserve battery life. After a period of no motion, the LED will automatically turn off. The default setting is 10 minutes, but this can be adjusted from 10 minutes to 12 hours, or deactivated entirely, depending on the model. The slightest movement of the optic will instantly reactivate the LED to the last used brightness setting.

To adjust the Shake-Awake timer or deactivate it, refer to the detailed instructions in the included FAQ Guide or the official Holosun website.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Lenses

To maintain optical clarity, regularly clean the lenses of your HS403B sight. Use the provided lens cloth or a soft, clean microfiber cloth. For stubborn smudges, a small amount of lens cleaning solution designed for optics can be applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.

Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the lens coatings.

2. Battery Replacement

When the dot appears dim or flickers, it may be time to replace the CR2032 battery. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the "Setup" section. Always use a fresh, high-quality CR2032 battery for optimal performance.

3. Storage

When not in use, store your HOLOSUN HS403B in a cool, dry place. Ensure the rubber lens cover is in place to protect the lenses from dust and scratches. If storing for an extended period, consider removing the battery to prevent potential leakage.
