1. Introduction

The Crankbrothers BC18 Bottle Cage Tool Kit is an integrated on-bike solution designed to provide essential mechanical support for cyclists. 3. Setup and Installation

The BC18 Bottle Cage Tool Kit is designed for quick and secure installation onto your bike frame's standard bottle cage mounting brackets, typically found on the seat tube or down tube.

1. Identify Mounting Location: Locate the two threaded inserts on your bike frame, usually on the seat tube or down tube, where a standard bottle cage would be mounted.
2. Orient the Bottle Cage: The bottle cage can be reversed to accommodate either right-handed or left-handed bottle access. Determine your preferred orientation before mounting.
3. Secure the Bottle Cage: Align the mounting holes on the BC18 bottle cage with the threaded inserts on your frame. Use appropriate bolts (not included, typically M5) to securely fasten the cage to the frame. Ensure the bolts are tightened sufficiently to prevent movement, but do not overtighten.
4. Insert Tools: Place the multi-tool, tire plug tool, tire lever, and CO2 inflator head into their designated slots within the bottle cage assembly. The design ensures a snug and secure fit for all components.
5. Optional: Add Chain Link and CO2 Cartridge: If desired, a spare chain link can be stored in the magnetized slot, and a 16/20/25g CO2 cartridge or mini-pump can be secured alongside the main assembly (items sold separately).

4. Operating Instructions

The BC18 Tool Kit provides a range of tools for common bicycle maintenance and repair tasks. To use a tool, simply remove it from its designated slot in the bottle cage assembly.

4.1 Multi-tool Usage

The multi-tool features various hex bits, Torx tools, and a flat screwdriver. To access a specific tool, unfold it from the multi-tool body. Ensure the desired tool is fully extended and locked into place before applying force.

• Hex Bits (2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8mm): Used for adjusting bolts on stems, seatposts, handlebars, and other components.
• Torx Tools (T10, T25): Used for specific Torx head bolts, commonly found on disc brake rotors or certain component mounts.
• Flat Screwdriver: For general purpose flat-head screws.

4.2 Tire Repair Tools

• Tire Lever: Used to safely remove and re-install bicycle tires from the rim. Insert the curved end under the tire bead and lever it over the rim.
• Tire Plug Tool & Plugs: For repairing tubeless tire punctures. Insert a plug into the tool, push it into the puncture, and then remove the tool, leaving the plug in place.
• CO2 Inflator Head: Attach a CO2 cartridge (sold separately) to the head and connect it to your tire's valve stem for rapid inflation. Follow the CO2 cartridge manufacturer's instructions for safe use.

4.3 Chain and Spoke Tools

• Chain Tool: Used to remove or install chain pins for chain repair or replacement. Carefully align the chain pin with the tool's pusher and turn the handle to push the pin.
• Spoke Wrenches (0, 1, 2): For adjusting spoke tension to true a wheel. Select the correct size for your spoke nipples and turn carefully to tighten or loosen.
• Valve Core Tool: For removing or tightening Presta or Schrader valve cores.
