4. Setup

4.1. Installing Batteries

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back or bottom of the device.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
  3. Insert the two 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Press the MEAS button once to turn on the device. The LCD will illuminate, and the device will be ready for measurement.

5.1. Taking a Single Measurement

  1. Point the laser beam at the target surface.
  2. Press the MEAS button once. The laser will activate, and the measured distance will appear on the display.

5.2. Continuous Measurement (Tracking Mode)

  1. Press and hold the MEAS button for approximately 2 seconds. The device will enter continuous measurement mode.
  2. As you move the device, the displayed distance will update in real-time, showing the current distance to the target.
  3. Press the MEAS button again to exit continuous measurement mode and freeze the last reading.

5.3. Changing Measurement Units

Press the /UNIT button to cycle through available measurement units (e.g., meters, feet, inches). The selected unit will be displayed on the screen.

The device allows you to choose whether the measurement should start from the front or the rear of the device. Refer to the icon on the display to confirm the current reference point. Press and hold the /UNIT button for a few seconds to toggle between the front and rear reference points.
