Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Open the camera housing by releasing the side latches.
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the right side of the internal panel.
  3. Insert 8 AA (1.5V) batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Lithium batteries are recommended for optimal performance and longer life, especially in cold conditions.
  4. Close the battery compartment securely.

Caution: Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Remove batteries if the camera will not be used for an extended period.

2. SD Card Installation

  1. Ensure the camera is powered OFF.
  2. Locate the SD card slot at the bottom of the camera.
  3. Insert a standard SD card (up to 512GB capacity) into the slot with the metal contacts facing down, until it clicks into place.
  4. To remove the SD card, gently push it in until it clicks, then release, and it will eject.

3. Mounting the Camera

The camera can be mounted using the included strap or a tripod.

  • Strap Mounting: Thread the provided mounting strap through the strap holes on the back of the camera. Secure the camera to a tree or pole at the desired height and angle.
  • Tripod Mounting: Use the 1/4"-20 tripod base at the bottom of the camera to attach it to a standard tripod or other compatible mounting accessory.

Position the camera to ensure a clear view of the target area, avoiding direct sunlight into the lens, which can cause overexposure. Ensure the camera is stable and will not move due to wind or animal contact.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off and Mode Selection

The camera has a 3-position switch: OFF, ON, and SET.

  • OFF: Powers off the camera.
  • ON: Activates the camera for recording. After a 30-second startup delay, the camera will begin motion-activated recording according to your settings.
  • SET: Enters setup mode, allowing you to configure camera settings and view recorded media on the LCD screen.

2. Menu Navigation and Settings

In SET mode, use the keypad to navigate the menu and adjust settings.

  • MENU Button: Accesses the main settings menu.
  • UP/DOWN Buttons: Navigate through menu options.
  • LEFT/RIGHT Buttons: Change values or select sub-options.
  • OK Button: Confirms selections and saves settings.

Key settings to configure:

  • Mode: Select Photo, Video, or Photo+Video.
  • Photo Resolution: Choose up to 48MP for still images.
  • Video Resolution: Select up to 1296P for video recordings.
  • PIR Sensitivity: Adjust motion sensor sensitivity (Low, Medium, High) based on environmental conditions to prevent false triggers.
  • Trigger Interval: Set the delay between consecutive recordings after motion detection.
  • Time Stamp: Enable or disable date, time, and temperature display on recordings.
  • Format SD Card: It is recommended to format the SD card within the camera before first use and periodically thereafter.

3. Motion Detection and Night Vision

The camera features a 0.1-second trigger speed and a 120-degree wide-angle detection zone, utilizing three PIR sensors for enhanced accuracy. The 36pcs 940nm infrared LEDs provide clear night vision up to 100 feet without emitting a visible glow, ensuring animals are not disturbed.

4. Viewing Media

  • On Camera: In SET mode, use the navigation buttons to browse through recorded photos and videos on the 2.4-inch LCD screen. Press OK to play videos.
  • On Computer: Connect the camera to your computer using the provided USB cable, or remove the SD card and insert it into a card reader. The camera/SD card will appear as a removable disk, allowing you to transfer files.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and PIR sensors. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by drying. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace all 8 AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the screen or when performance degrades.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries and SD card. Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Waterproof Seal: Ensure the camera housing latches are securely closed to maintain its IP66 waterproof rating, protecting it from rain, snow, ice, dust, and fog.
