1. Introduction

The Serta Heated Mattress Pad provides customizable warmth and comfort for your bed. Designed with soft microfiber material, it offers 10 heat settings and an auto shut-off timer for safe and convenient use. This Queen size pad includes dual controllers for personalized temperature control on each side of the bed and features deep elastic pockets to fit mattresses up to 17 inches thick. It is ETL certified and machine washable for easy care.

2. Important Safety Information

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USE AND RETAIN FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

• Electrical Safety: Ensure the product is connected to a 120V / 60Hz power supply. Do not use with generators, power converters, or non-standard outlets.
• Overheating Prevention: DO NOT LEAVE CONTROLLER COVERED WHEN IN USE TO AVOID OVERHEATING. Ensure controllers are placed on a flat, open surface where they can dissipate heat.
• Proper Placement: Ensure the mattress pad is spread flat on the mattress and not bunched or folded, which can cause localized overheating.
• Damage Inspection: Regularly inspect the product, including cords and controllers, for any signs of damage. Discontinue use if any damage is found.
• Children and Pets: Keep controllers and cords out of reach of children and pets. Do not use this product with infants, incapacitated persons, or anyone insensitive to heat.
• Medical Conditions: Consult a physician before using if you have a pacemaker, diabetes, or other medical conditions.
• Cleaning: Always unplug the product from the power outlet and disconnect controllers before cleaning. Follow machine washing instructions carefully.

4. Setup Instructions

1. Unpack: Carefully remove the heated mattress pad and controllers from the packaging.
2. Position Pad: Lay the mattress pad flat on your mattress, ensuring the connector for the controllers is positioned at the foot of the bed.
3. Secure Fit: The deep elastic pocket is designed to fit mattresses up to 17 inches thick. Stretch the elasticized skirt over the corners and sides of your mattress for a snug and secure fit.

4. Connect Controllers: Locate the power inlets on the mattress pad. Firmly plug each controller's cord into its respective inlet on the mattress pad. Ensure a secure connection.
5. Plug into Power: Plug the power cords from the controllers into a standard 120V / 60Hz electrical outlet. Avoid using extension cords if possible.
6. Controller Placement: Place the controllers on a bedside table or another flat, uncovered surface, ensuring they are not under bedding or pillows to prevent overheating.

5. Operating Instructions

The Serta Heated Mattress Pad features dual controllers for Queen size and larger, allowing independent temperature settings for each side of the bed.

Power On/Off

• Press the ON/OFF button on the controller to turn the pad on or off.

Adjusting Heat Settings

• The controller offers 10 heat settings. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to increase or decrease the desired heat level. The current setting will be displayed on the backlit LCD screen.
• For Queen and larger sizes, each controller operates its respective side of the bed independently.

Setting the Auto Shut-Off Timer

• The auto shut-off timer can be set from 1 to 12 hours in 1-hour increments.
• Press the TIMER button and then use the '+' and '-' buttons to select the desired duration. The pad will automatically turn off after the set time.

Pre-heating

• To pre-heat your bed, turn on the mattress pad approximately 20-30 minutes before you plan to use it.

6. Care and Maintenance

The Serta Heated Mattress Pad is conveniently machine washable.

Washing Instructions

1. Disconnect: Ensure the power cord is unplugged from the wall outlet and the controllers are disconnected from the mattress pad.
2. Pre-soak (Optional): For best results, pre-soak the pad for 15 minutes in mild soap and cold water.
3. Machine Wash: Wash on a gentle or delicate cycle in a commercial washing machine with warm water and mild detergent. Do not bleach.
4. Rinse: Rinse on a normal cycle.
5. Spin Dry: Spin dry to remove excess water.

Drying Instructions

1. Tumble Dry: Tumble dry on a low heat setting in a large commercial dryer. Ensure the pad is completely dry before use or storage.
2. Air Dry: Alternatively, air dry by draping over a clothesline or shower rod. Do not use clothespins or hang over sharp edges that could damage the internal wires.
3. Do Not Iron: Do not iron the heated mattress pad.

Storage

To prolong the life of your electric blanket, we recommend rolling the mattress rather than folding it. When storing it, do not compress it or put anything on top of it. Doing so can cause damage to the wires which could affect functionality.

7. Troubleshooting

• Q: Why is my controller light blinking?
  A: Unplug and reconnect to try again, and make sure the controller is well connected. If it still doesn't work, please reach out to customer support.
• Q: My controller feels warm to the touch: Is this a problem?
  A: The control will feel warm (not hot) to the touch when functioning properly. Even when the controller is on, small amounts of electricity will cycle through it, which may make the controller warm. This is normal operation.
• Q: The pad is not heating.
  A: Ensure all connections are secure, from the wall outlet to the controller and from the controller to the pad. Check if the power outlet is functioning correctly.
