5. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for safe operation. The hoist can be mounted vertically or horizontally.
- Choose a Mounting Location: Select a sturdy overhead beam or structure capable of supporting the hoist and its maximum rated load (1,100 lbs). Ensure the mounting point is level and stable.
- Secure the Hoist: Use appropriate heavy-duty mounting hardware (not included) to securely attach the hoist to the chosen structure. Ensure all bolts and fasteners are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.
- Connect Power: Plug the hoist into a grounded 110V/120V ~ 60Hz power outlet. Ensure the power supply is adequate for the 1600W motor.
- Remote Control Setup:
- Wired Remote: Connect the wired remote control cable to the designated port on the hoist unit.
- Wireless Remote: Install the required battery (not included, typically 12V 23A or similar) into each wireless remote control. Test the remote controls for functionality before operation.
- Initial Inspection: Before first use, perform a thorough visual inspection of the hoist, steel rope, hooks, and all connections. Ensure the steel rope is properly wound on the drum and free from kinks or damage.
6. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your electric hoist.
- Pre-Operation Check:
- Verify the hoist is securely mounted.
- Inspect the steel rope for fraying, kinks, or damage.
- Check hooks for deformation or cracks, and ensure safety buckles operate freely.
- Confirm the lifting path is clear of obstructions and personnel.
- Attaching the Load:
- Use the provided lifting strap or other suitable rigging to securely attach the item to the lower hook.
- Ensure the load is balanced and the safety buckle on the hook is fully closed.
- Note: The upper single hook is not designed to bear loads.
- Lifting the Load:
- Using either the wired or wireless remote control, press the UP button to slowly raise the load.
- Monitor the load's stability and the hoist's operation.
- The hoist will automatically stop when it reaches its upper lifting limit.
- Lowering the Load:
- Press the DOWN button on the remote control to slowly lower the load.
- Guide the load as necessary, keeping hands clear.
- Emergency Stop: In any unsafe situation, immediately press the large red EMERGENCY STOP button on the wired remote control. This will cut power to the hoist.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your hoist.
- Daily Inspection: Before each use, visually inspect the hoist for any signs of wear, damage, or loose components. Pay close attention to the steel rope, hooks, and power cables.
- Lubrication: Periodically lubricate moving parts as recommended by the manufacturer (refer to specific product documentation if available, otherwise use a general-purpose lubricant suitable for metal components).
- Cleaning: Keep the hoist unit clean and free from dirt, dust, and debris. Use a dry cloth or soft brush. Do not use harsh chemicals or immerse the unit in water.
- Carbon Brush Replacement: The motor uses carbon brushes which will wear down over time. Replace them when they are significantly worn to maintain motor performance. Two replacement carbon brushes are included. Refer to the hoist's casing for access to the carbon brush compartments.
- Storage: When not in use, store the hoist in a dry, clean, and secure location, preferably in the provided storage bag, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Professional Servicing: Any complex repairs or internal component replacements should be performed by qualified service personnel.
8. Troubleshooting
Refer to this section for common issues and their solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Hoist does not operate. | No power supply. Emergency stop button engaged. Remote control battery low/dead. Overload protection activated. | Check power connection. Release emergency stop button by twisting. Replace remote control battery. Reduce load; allow motor to cool. |
| Hoist operates slowly or with reduced power. | Overload. Worn carbon brushes. Low voltage. | Reduce load. Replace carbon brushes. Ensure proper voltage supply. |
| Unusual noise during operation. | Lack of lubrication. Internal component issue. | Lubricate moving parts. Discontinue use and contact qualified service personnel. |
| Wireless remote not responding. | Battery dead or incorrectly installed. Out of range. Interference. | Replace battery; ensure correct polarity. Move closer to the hoist unit. Reduce other wireless device usage. |
| Hoist stops automatically during lift. | Reached lifting limit. Overload protection. | This is a safety feature; no action needed unless due to overload. Reduce load; allow motor to cool. |
