6. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your PWAY DT264 HDMI Extender:

  1. Connect the HDMI Source to the Transmitter (TX): Use an HDMI cable to connect your HDMI source device (e.g., PC, laptop, game console) to the HDMI IN port on the Transmitter (TX) unit.
  2. Connect Local Display (Optional): If you wish to monitor the source signal locally, connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT (Loop-out) port on the TX unit to a local display (e.g., monitor, TV).
  3. Connect the Remote Display to the Receiver (RX): Use an HDMI cable to connect your remote display device (e.g., TV, projector) to the HDMI OUT port on the Receiver (RX) unit.
  4. Connect TX and RX Units via Ethernet Cable: Connect a single Cat5e/Cat6/Cat7/Cat8 Ethernet cable between the UTP port on the Transmitter (TX) unit and the UTP port on the Receiver (RX) unit. Ensure the cable is directly connected and not routed through a network switch or router for optimal performance.
  5. Power On the Units: Connect the provided DC 5V power adapters to the DC 5-12V power input ports on both the Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX) units. Plug the power adapters into electrical outlets.
  6. Verify Connection: Once both units are powered on, the PWR LED on both units should illuminate. The STA LED on both units should also light up, indicating a successful HDMI signal connection.

  • Status Indicator (STA LED): A solid light indicates a stable HDMI signal connection between the TX and RX units. If this light is off or blinking, there may be a signal issue.
  • Ensure your source device is outputting an HDMI signal and your display device is set to the correct HDMI input.

8. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your HDMI Extender, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the units. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Management: Ensure all cables are neatly organized and not under excessive tension or bent sharply, which can damage them.
