3. Setup Guide
Follow these steps to set up your MokerLink G4802GS switch:
- Unpack the Switch: Carefully remove the switch and all accessories from the packaging. Verify that all components are present.
- Choose a Location: Select a stable, dry, and well-ventilated location. Ensure adequate space for cable connections and airflow. The switch can be placed on a desktop or mounted in a standard 19-inch rack.
- Rack Mounting (Optional): If rack mounting, attach the included rackmount brackets to the sides of the switch using the provided screws. Secure the switch into your 19-inch rack.
- Connect Power: Connect the power cord to the AC IN port on the rear panel of the switch and then to a suitable power outlet. The Power LED indicator on the front panel should illuminate, indicating the switch is receiving power.
- Connect Network Devices: Connect your network devices (e.g., computers, servers, IP cameras, wireless access points, routers) to the RJ45 ports (1-48) on the front panel using standard Ethernet cables.
- Connect SFP Modules (Optional): For fiber optic connections, insert compatible 1G SFP transceivers into the SFP ports (49-50) and connect fiber optic cables.
- Verify Connections: Check the LED indicators for each connected port. A solid green or orange light indicates a successful link.

4. Operating Instructions
The MokerLink G4802GS is an unmanaged switch, meaning it requires no software configuration for basic network operation. However, it includes a DIP switch for optional VLAN functionality.
4.1 LED Indicators
Monitor the switch's status using the front panel LEDs:
- PWR (Power Indicator):
- Lighting: Power On
- Un-Light: No Power
- Port LEDs (for RJ45 ports):
- Orange: 10/100Mbps Link/Activity
- Green: 1000Mbps Link/Activity
- Flashing: Data Transmitting
- Off: Link Off
4.2 DIP Switch for VLAN Mode
The switch features a DIP switch on the front panel to control port-based VLAN functionality:
- OFF: VLAN Mode Off (Default, all ports can communicate freely).
- ON: VLAN Mode On (Ports 1-46 are isolated from each other but can communicate with ports 47-50. This improves network performance by reducing broadcast domains).
Important: Change the DIP switch setting only when the switch is powered off to ensure proper application of the setting.

Figure 5: Illustration of the port-based VLAN functionality, showing how the DIP switch isolates ports 1-46 while allowing communication with uplink ports 47-50.
5. Maintenance
The MokerLink G4802GS switch is designed for low maintenance due to its fanless operation and robust metal housing.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the switch with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Ensure the cooling vents are free from dust and obstructions.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure the switch operates within its specified temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid exposing the switch to direct sunlight, excessive heat, or moisture.
- Cable Management: Keep network cables organized and properly secured to prevent accidental disconnections or damage.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your MokerLink G4802GS switch, refer to the following troubleshooting tips:
- No Power:
- Ensure the power cord is securely connected to the switch and the power outlet.
- Verify the power outlet is functional.
- Check if the Power LED on the front panel is illuminated.
- No Link/Activity on a Port:
- Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the switch port and the network device.
- Verify the network cable is not damaged and is of the correct type (e.g., Cat5e or Cat6 for Gigabit speeds).
- Check the network device to ensure it is powered on and functioning correctly.
- Try connecting to a different port on the switch or using a different cable.
- For SFP ports, ensure the SFP transceiver is correctly inserted and compatible, and the fiber cable is intact.
- Slow Network Speed:
- Ensure all connected devices and cables support Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mbps).
- Check the port LED color: Green indicates 1000Mbps, Orange indicates 10/100Mbps. If orange, check the connected device's speed settings or cable.
- If VLAN mode is enabled, ensure your network configuration is optimized for it.
- Avoid network congestion by ensuring your network infrastructure can handle the traffic load.
- VLAN Not Working as Expected:
- Ensure the DIP switch for VLAN mode is set to 'ON'.
- Remember that changes to the DIP switch require a power cycle to take effect.
- Confirm that ports 1-46 are isolated from each other and can communicate with ports 47-50 as intended.
