5. Setup

5.1. Charging Batteries

The batteries are not fully charged upon arrival. Please charge both batteries for 1-2 hours each before the first use using the provided power adapter.

5.2. Assembling the Pruning Shears

1. Insert a charged 21V lithium battery into the base of the electric pruning shears until it clicks securely into place.
2. Ensure the battery is firmly seated to prevent accidental disconnection during operation.

5.3. Attaching the Extension Pole

The Dragro DS-02 offers a 2-in-1 design, allowing use as a handheld unit or with the extension pole.

1. Remove the battery from the handheld pruning shears.
2. Align the electric pruning shears with the attachment point at the top of the telescopic extension pole.
3. Insert the shears onto the pole and rotate the button to fix the machine securely.
4. Attach the battery pack to the designated slot at the base of the extension pole.

5.4. Adjusting Pole Length and Cutting Angle

• Pole Length: The telescopic pole extends from 3.3 ft to 6 ft, providing a total reach of up to 12 ft. Adjust the length by loosening the locking mechanisms, extending the pole to the desired height, and then securely tightening the locks.
• Cutting Angle: The shears head can be adjusted up to 180 degrees to reach branches at various angles. Use the machine fixing clip to adjust the angle as needed for optimal cutting.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Powering On and Off

1. To turn on the electric pruning shears, locate the safety switch.
2. Pull the trigger twice quickly. You will hear a "Beep Beep" sound, and a green light will illuminate, indicating the tool is ready for use.
3. To begin cutting, press the trigger again.
4. If the trigger is not pressed for 60 seconds, the shears will automatically enter auto-sleep mode to prevent accidental cutting. To reactivate, repeat step 2.

6.2. Cutting Branches

• The SK5 high-carbon steel blades are designed for efficient cutting of branches up to 1.2 inches (30mm) in diameter without damaging the branches.
• Position the branch between the open blades and press the trigger to make a clean cut.
• For optimal performance and blade longevity, avoid forcing the shears through branches thicker than the recommended diameter.

6.3. Using with the Extension Pole

When the shears are attached to the extension pole, the trigger mechanism is located at the base of the pole for safe operation from a distance.

• Ensure the pole is securely assembled and the battery is attached to the base of the pole.
• Extend the pole to the desired length and adjust the cutting angle of the shears head as needed.
• Aim the shears at the target branch and press the trigger at the pole's base to activate the cutting action.

6.4. LCD Display

The integrated LCD display provides real-time information on battery power and the number of cuts made, helping you monitor usage and battery life.

• Blade Cleaning: After each use, clean the blades to remove sap, debris, and plant residue. Use a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
• Blade Lubrication: Apply a few drops of the provided lubricating oil to the blades regularly, especially after cleaning, to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust.
• Blade Sharpening: Use the matching tool and sharpening stone to keep the SK5 high-carbon steel blades sharp. Refer to the manual for detailed sharpening instructions.
• Battery Storage: Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure batteries are partially charged (around 50%) for long-term storage.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your pruning shears, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

• Shears Not Turning On:
  • Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely inserted.
  • Confirm the safety switch is engaged by pulling the trigger twice quickly until you hear the "Beep Beep" sound and see the green light.
• Blades Not Cutting Effectively:
  • Check if the blades are clean and free from debris or sap buildup.
  • Ensure the blades are sharp. Sharpen them if necessary using the provided tools.
  • Verify that the branch diameter is within the recommended 1.2-inch cutting capacity.
• Battery Draining Quickly:
