Operating Instructions

The Mainstays 4-Slice Toaster Oven features simple dial controls for temperature, mode, and time.

Temperature/Mode Dial

This dial controls both the cooking mode and the temperature. Rotate the dial to select one of the following settings:

  • Toast: For toasting bread, bagels, and frozen waffles.
  • Bake: For baking items like cookies, cakes, and casseroles. Adjustable temperature settings are available (e.g., 250°F, 300°F, 350°F, 400°F).
  • Broil: For broiling meats, fish, or browning the top of dishes.

Time Dial

This dial sets the cooking time up to 60 minutes. It also includes a "Stay On" function for longer cooking times.

  • To set the time, turn the dial clockwise to the desired cooking duration.
  • For toast, turn the dial past the 20-minute mark, then back to the desired toast shade (Light, Medium, Dark).
  • The oven will automatically turn off when the timer reaches zero.
  • To stop cooking before the timer expires, turn the time dial counter-clockwise to the "OFF" position.

General Cooking Steps:

  1. Place food on the baking rack or in the baking pan as appropriate.
  2. Close the oven door.
  3. Set the Temperature/Mode dial to the desired cooking mode and temperature.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your toaster oven.

  1. Always unplug the toaster oven from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Crumb Tray: Slide out the removable crumb tray from the bottom of the oven. Discard crumbs and wash the tray with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly before replacing. Clean frequently to prevent crumb buildup and potential fire hazards.

  4. Interior: Wipe the interior surfaces of the oven with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as they can damage the non-stick coating.
  5. Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the toaster oven with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  6. Door: Clean the glass door with a soft cloth and glass cleaner or soapy water. Do not use abrasive sprays or sharp objects.
