Safety Instructions

• The on/off switch with zero voltage trigger prevents accidental restart after a power failure.

Setup and Assembly

Before first use, ensure all components are present and correctly assembled.

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Verify against the packing list.
2. Base and Column Assembly: Securely attach the column to the base using the provided fasteners.
3. Headstock Installation: Mount the headstock onto the top of the column.
4. Work Table Attachment: Slide the work table assembly onto the column and secure it at a comfortable working height.
5. Chuck Installation: Insert the toothed crown chuck and MK2 chuck onto the spindle. Ensure it is firmly seated.
6. Chip Guard Installation: Attach the folding chip guard for safety during operation.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your drill press.

1. Adjusting Drilling Speed

The drill press offers 12 speed levels (200 to 2,450 rpm) to suit different materials. Speed adjustment is done by changing the belt position on the pulleys located in the headstock.

1. Disconnect the power supply.
2. Open the top cover of the headstock.
3. Loosen the motor tensioning bolt to allow belt movement.
4. Move the belt to the desired pulley combination for the required speed. Refer to the speed chart inside the cover.
5. Retighten the motor tensioning bolt and close the cover.

2. Adjusting Work Table

The work table can be adjusted for height, rotation, and tilt to accommodate various workpieces.

• Height Adjustment: Loosen the table locking handle and use the crank to move the table up or down the column. Securely tighten the handle once the desired height is reached.
• Rotation: The table can rotate up to 90° around the column. Loosen the table locking handle, rotate, and retighten.
• Tilt: The table can tilt up to 45° left or right. Loosen the tilt locking bolts, adjust the angle, and retighten.

3. Setting Drilling Depth

The adjustable depth stop allows for precise and repeatable drilling up to a maximum depth of 60 mm.

1. Lower the drill bit until it just touches the workpiece.
2. Lock the spindle in this position.
3. Adjust the depth stop collar to the desired drilling depth.
4. Unlock the spindle. The drill will stop at the preset depth during operation.

4. Drilling Operation

1. Select the appropriate drill bit (1.5 to 16 mm diameter) and secure it firmly in the chuck.
2. Position the workpiece on the table and clamp it securely to prevent movement during drilling.
3. Adjust the table height and depth stop as needed.
4. Turn on the drill press using the ON switch.
5. Slowly lower the drill bit into the workpiece using the three-arm cross handle, applying steady, even pressure.
6. Once drilling is complete, retract the drill bit from the workpiece.
7. Turn off the drill press using the OFF switch.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your drill press.

• Cleaning: After each use, clean the machine of dust, chips, and debris. Use a brush or vacuum cleaner. Do not use solvents that may damage plastic parts.
• Lubrication: Periodically apply a light machine oil to moving parts such as the column, rack, and spindle.
• Belt Inspection: Regularly check the drive belt for wear, cracks, or tension. Replace if necessary.
• Chuck Maintenance: Keep the chuck jaws clean and free of debris to ensure proper gripping of drill bits.
• Storage: Store the drill press in a dry, clean environment when not in use.
