Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of your HOCANFLO Macerator Pump. Please follow these steps carefully. For a visual guide, refer to the installation video below.

1. Unboxing and Component Identification

Before beginning installation, ensure all components are present and undamaged. Familiarize yourself with the pump's various inlets and outlets.

2. Connecting to the Toilet

The macerator pump is designed to connect directly to a P-trap toilet. Ensure the toilet's drainage port aligns with the pump's toilet inlet. Use the provided rubber ring and clamp to secure the connection firmly, preventing leaks.

3. Connecting Additional Water Inlets

The pump features two additional water inlets at the bottom, suitable for connecting a shower, washbasin, or other greywater sources. Remove the plugs from these inlets and connect the appropriate hoses. Ensure all connections are secured with clamps.

4. Outlet Pipe Installation

Install the outlet pipe from the top of the macerator pump. The elbow fitting can be connected to 28mm, 32mm, or 40mm PVC pipes. For optimal flow, ensure the pipe connecting to the water pump maintains at least a 3% inclination to allow sewage to enter smoothly. If the toilet is installed directly below the main sewage pipe, an elbow may not be necessary; simply remove the black check valve and fix it at the water outlet position. A ball valve can be installed near the top of the outlet pipe to prevent backflow during maintenance or repair.

5. Deodorization Device

The pump includes a vent for deodorization. An activated carbon bag can be placed inside this vent to neutralize odors. Replace the carbon bag periodically for best results.

Operation

The HOCANFLO Macerator Pump operates automatically. Once connected to the toilet and other fixtures, it will activate when waste water enters the pump chamber, macerating solids and pumping the effluent through the discharge pipe. The automatic start and stop function ensures efficient operation only when needed.

Ensure the pump is always connected to a reliable power source. Avoid flushing non-biodegradable items, excessive amounts of toilet paper, or foreign objects, as this can damage the impeller blades and motor.

Maintenance

• Regular Cleaning: Periodically inspect the pump and connections for any buildup or blockages. Disconnect power before any inspection or cleaning.
• Deodorization: Replace the activated carbon bag in the vent as needed to maintain effective odor control. The frequency depends on usage.
• Check for Leaks: Regularly check all pipe connections and clamps for any signs of leaks. Tighten clamps if necessary.
• Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use harsh chemical drain cleaners, as they can damage the pump's internal components.
• Winterization (if applicable): If the pump is installed in an unheated area subject to freezing temperatures, ensure it is properly drained and winterized to prevent damage.
