4. Setup Guide

4.1 Charging the Speaker

Before first use, fully charge your Skullcandy Stomp speaker. A full charge takes approximately 3-4 hours.

  1. Locate the USB-C charging port on the back of the speaker, usually protected by a waterproof flap.
  2. Open the flap and insert the provided USB-C cable into the speaker's charging port.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  4. The LED indicator will show charging status (e.g., solid red for charging, off or green for fully charged).

4.2 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power button (usually marked with a power symbol) located on the top panel of the speaker for 2-3 seconds. You will hear an audible tone, and the LED lights will illuminate.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button again for 2-3 seconds. You will hear a power-off tone, and the LED lights will turn off.

4.3 Bluetooth Pairing

Pair your Skullcandy Stomp with your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) to stream audio wirelessly.

  1. Ensure the speaker is powered on and within 1 meter (3 feet) of your device.
  2. The speaker will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode when powered on for the first time, indicated by a flashing blue LED. If it has been paired before, it will attempt to reconnect to the last device. To force pairing mode, press and hold the Bluetooth button (if available) or the power button until the LED flashes rapidly.
  3. On your device, go to Bluetooth settings and enable Bluetooth.
  4. Search for available devices. You should see "Skullcandy Stomp" in the list.
  5. Select "Skullcandy Stomp" to connect. Once connected, the LED indicator will turn solid blue, and you will hear a confirmation tone.

Note: The speaker will automatically power off after a period of inactivity if not connected to a device.

5. Operating Your Speaker

5.1 Basic Controls

The Skullcandy Stomp features intuitive controls located on its top panel. Refer to Figure 5 for button layout.

5.2 Multi-Link Function

The Multi-Link feature allows you to connect up to 99 Skullcandy Stomp (and compatible Skullcandy) speakers for a larger, synchronized audio experience.

  1. Ensure all speakers you wish to link are powered on and not currently paired with any device.
  2. Pair your primary Skullcandy Stomp speaker with your Bluetooth device as described in Section 4.3. This will be your "Host" speaker.
  3. On the Host speaker, press the Multi-Link Button (chain link symbol). The LED will flash, indicating it's searching for other speakers.
  4. On each additional Skullcandy speaker you want to link, press the Multi-Link Button. They will enter search mode.
  5. The speakers will automatically connect to the Host speaker. Once connected, their LEDs will synchronize, and audio will play across all linked speakers.
  6. To disconnect a speaker from the Multi-Link chain, press its Multi-Link button again.

5.3 LED Lightshow Modes

The Skullcandy Stomp features dynamic LED lights that can enhance your listening experience.

  • Press the Light Mode Button (sun/lightbulb symbol) to cycle through various light patterns and colors.
  • Some modes may react to the beat of the music, while others are static or cycle through colors.
  • Press and hold the Light Mode Button to turn the LED lights off or on.

5.4 USB Charge Out

Utilize your Skullcandy Stomp as a portable power bank to charge your mobile devices.

  1. Locate the USB-A output port on the back of the speaker, next to the USB-C charging port.
  2. Connect your device's charging cable (USB-A end) to the speaker's USB-A output port.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to your smartphone, tablet, or other compatible device.
  4. Charging will begin automatically. The speaker must be powered on for this function to work.
