Setup and Installation
Proper installation of the O-rings is crucial for preventing leaks and ensuring optimal performance of your pressure washer. Follow these steps to replace or install new O-rings:
- Disconnect Power: Before beginning any maintenance, ensure your pressure washer is turned off and disconnected from its power source and water supply.
- Locate O-ring: Identify the O-ring that needs replacement within the quick-connect fitting of your pressure washer lance or hose.
- Remove Old O-ring: Carefully remove the old or damaged O-ring. A small, non-abrasive tool can be used if necessary, taking care not to scratch the fitting surface.
- Clean Fitting: Clean the groove where the O-ring sits to remove any dirt, debris, or old lubricant.
- Install New O-ring: Gently stretch and place a new Micro Traders O-ring into the groove. Ensure it sits flush and is not twisted.
- Lubricate (Optional): A small amount of silicone grease can be applied to the O-ring to aid in installation and further improve the seal, though it is not always necessary.
- Reconnect: Reassemble the quick-connect fitting, ensuring all parts are securely fastened.
- Test for Leaks: Reconnect the pressure washer to the water supply and power, then briefly operate it to check for any leaks at the newly installed O-ring location.

Operating Considerations
While O-rings themselves do not have an "operating" procedure, their presence is critical for the proper function of your pressure washer. Ensure that all connections utilizing these O-rings are securely tightened before operating the pressure washer to prevent water leakage and maintain consistent pressure.
These O-rings are designed to withstand the high-pressure environment of car washing machines and similar applications, providing a reliable seal.
Maintenance
O-rings are wear-and-tear components and require periodic inspection and replacement to ensure the longevity and efficiency of your pressure washer system.
- Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect all O-rings in your pressure washer's quick-connect fittings and hoses for signs of wear, cracking, flattening, or damage.
- Replacement: Replace O-rings immediately if any signs of damage or leakage are observed. Using damaged O-rings can lead to significant pressure loss and water waste.
- Storage: Store unused O-rings in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and harsh chemicals to preserve their material integrity.

Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your pressure washer related to sealing, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
- Water Leakage: If water is leaking from a connection point, the O-ring in that fitting is likely worn, damaged, or improperly seated. Replace the O-ring following the "Setup and Installation" instructions.
- Loss of Pressure: A damaged or improperly installed O-ring can lead to a loss of pressure in your pressure washer system. Inspect and replace any suspect O-rings.
- Difficulty Connecting: If quick-connect fittings are difficult to join, ensure the O-ring is correctly seated and not obstructing the connection. A small amount of silicone lubricant can also help.
