Initial Power On:

  1. Press and hold the power button (usually located on the front or side of the device) until the screen illuminates.
  2. The device will perform a brief self-test and then display the current measurement readings.

Operating Instructions

Understanding Measurement Modes:

The Tadeto TE029 measures three types of electromagnetic radiation:

  • Radio Frequency (RF): Measures signals from Wi-Fi, 5G, cell phones, microwaves, etc. Displayed in mW/m².
  • Electric Field (EF): Measures electric fields from power lines, appliances, and wiring. Displayed in V/M.
  • Magnetic Field (EMF): Measures magnetic fields from motors, transformers, and electrical currents. Displayed in uT/mG.

This image illustrates the three primary measurement functions of the Tadeto TE029: Radio Frequency (RF), Electric Field (EF), and Magnetic Field (EMF) detection.

Taking Measurements:

  1. Power on the device. The screen will show real-time readings for RF, EF, and EMF.
  2. Point the top of the device towards the suspected radiation source for accurate readings. The device is directional, not omnidirectional.
  3. Observe the digital readouts and the color-coded indicators (green, yellow, red) which represent low, medium, and high radiation levels respectively.

Function Buttons:

  • MAX_EF / MAX_EMF / PEAK_RF: Press these buttons to view the maximum recorded value for Electric Field, Magnetic Field, or Radio Frequency respectively. Press again to exit maximum value mode.
  • uT/mG: Toggles the unit for Magnetic Field measurement between microtesla (uT) and milligauss (mG).
  • APO/HOLD: Short press to activate/deactivate data hold, which freezes the current readings on the screen. Long press to toggle automatic power off.
  • Mute Key: Toggles the audible alarm on or off.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the casing or screen.

Battery Care:

The device uses a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, especially if it will not be used for an extended period.

Storage:

Store the EMF meter in its protective storage box in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep out of reach of children.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power on.Low battery or no charge.Charge the device using the provided USB cable. Ensure the charging indicator shows activity.
Readings seem inaccurate or fluctuate wildly.Interference from other electronic devices; incorrect orientation; bursty signals.Ensure the device is pointed directly at the source. Move away from other strong electronic devices. Note that some RF signals are inherently bursty.
Audible alarm sounds too frequently.High radiation levels detected; alarm threshold exceeded.Press the Mute Key to turn off the alarm sound. Consider relocating or reducing exposure to the source if levels are consistently high.
Screen is dim or unreadable.Low battery; backlight off.Charge the device. Ensure the backlight is active (if applicable, check manual for specific backlight control).
