3. Operating Principles

The carburetor is a vital component responsible for mixing air and fuel in the correct ratio for combustion within the engine. Once installed, the carburetor operates automatically to deliver the necessary fuel mixture based on engine demand.

For detailed operating instructions of your specific string trimmer model, please refer to the original equipment manufacturer's user manual.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance of your carburetor and associated components will ensure long-term performance and reliability of your equipment.

4.1 Carburetor Cleaning

  • Periodically inspect the carburetor for external dirt or debris. Clean with a soft brush and carburetor cleaner if necessary.
  • If the engine experiences performance issues, internal cleaning of the carburetor may be required. This typically involves disassembling the carburetor and cleaning jets and passages with carburetor cleaner and compressed air. This task is best performed by experienced individuals.

4.2 Fuel System Maintenance

  • Fuel Filter: The included fuel filter should be replaced periodically (e.g., annually or every 50 hours of operation) to prevent contaminants from reaching the carburetor.
  • Fuel Lines: Inspect fuel lines for cracks, hardening, or leaks. Replace them if any damage is observed. New fuel lines are provided in the kit.
  • Primer Bulbs: If the primer bulb becomes cracked or loses its elasticity, replace it. Two new primer bulbs are included in your kit.

4.3 Spark Plug Maintenance

  • Inspect the spark plug (BM6A type, included) regularly for wear, carbon buildup, or damage.
  • Clean the spark plug electrodes with a wire brush if necessary.
  • Ensure the spark plug gap is set correctly according to your equipment's specifications.
  • Replace the spark plug if it is fouled, worn, or damaged.
