4. Setup Guide
Follow these steps for initial setup of your RAINPOINT Hydroponics Growing System:
- Prepare Seeds and Sponges: Soak your chosen seeds and the planting sponges in pure water for approximately 5-6 hours. This aids in germination.
- Plant Seeds: Place the soaked seeds into the center of each planting sponge. Insert the sponges into the planting baskets. Cover each basket with a grow dome to create a humid environment for germination. Apply blackout stickers to any unused pods to prevent algae growth.
- Add Water and Nutrients: Fill the 5-liter water tank with water up to the 'MAX' line. Add 25ml of 'A' solid nutrient solution and 25ml of 'B' solid nutrient solution to the water tank. Ensure the nutrients are well dissolved.
- Power On and Select Mode: Plug the adapter into the system and a power outlet. Select the appropriate growing mode (Vegetables Mode or Fruit & Flowers Mode) using the control panel.

5. Operation
Light System
The system features smart bionic growth light technology, providing an optimal spectrum and light duration for plant development. The default light cycle is 18 hours on and 6 hours off. Be aware that manually controlling the light will reset this cycle.
The light height is adjustable to accommodate growing plants. Raise the light as your plants grow taller to prevent contact and ensure even light distribution.
Growing Modes
The system offers two distinct growing modes:
- Vegetables Mode: Optimized for leafy greens and herbs.
- Fruit & Flowers Mode: Optimized for fruiting plants and flowering varieties.
Select the mode that best suits the plants you are cultivating for optimal growth.

Water Pump
The integrated water pump operates on a pre-programmed cycle to ensure consistent water circulation and oxygen delivery to the plant roots. This cycle cannot be manually changed.
6. Maintenance
Nutrient Replenishment
Replenish the plant food every 1-2 weeks. There is no automatic alarm for nutrient replacement, so it is recommended to set personal reminders to maintain optimal nutrient levels for your plants.
Water Level Monitoring
Regularly check the water level in the 5-liter tank. Refill with water as needed to ensure the roots are adequately submerged.
Cleaning
The system is designed with removable tanks for easier cleaning. Periodically clean the water tank and components to prevent algae buildup and maintain a healthy growing environment.
Root Management
As plants mature, their roots may grow extensively. Trim roots periodically to prevent them from interfering with the drain plug or pump, which could lead to slow leaks or reduced water circulation.
Blackout Stickers
Keep the blackout stickers on the planting baskets, even after germination. These stickers help prevent light from reaching the water, which can inhibit mold and algae growth around the seeds and roots.
7. Troubleshooting
- Problem: Slow leak from the drain plug.
Solution: Excessive root growth can dislodge the drain plug. Trim plant roots regularly to prevent this issue. - Problem: Mold on seeds or sponges.
Solution: Ensure blackout stickers are properly placed over all planting baskets to block light from reaching the growing medium and water, which helps prevent mold and algae. - Problem: Light cycle resets unexpectedly.
Solution: The light cycle is fixed (18 hours on, 6 hours off). Accidental touches to the sensitive control panel buttons can reset this cycle. Exercise caution when adjusting the light height or moving the unit. - Problem: Poor plant growth or wilting.
Solution: Verify that the ambient room temperature is suitable for the specific plants you are growing, as the system does not include water temperature control. Check nutrient levels and replenish as needed. - Problem: System not powering on.
Solution: Check the power adapter and ensure it is securely connected to both the unit and a working power outlet. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
