1. Introduction and Overview

The MABIS DBP-2261 Universal Wrist Talking Blood Pressure Monitor is designed to provide clinically accurate blood pressure and pulse rate measurements. 2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The monitor requires two (2) AAA batteries, which are included. To install or replace batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the monitor.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2.2 Setting Date, Time, and Voice Language

Before first use, set the date, time, and preferred voice language/volume.

  1. Press the SET button to enter setup mode.
  2. Use the M (Memory) button to change the flashing number (e.g., year, month, day, hour, minute).
  3. Press SET to confirm each selection and move to the next setting.
  4. Continue until you reach the voice language setting. Use the M button to select English, Spanish, or turn the voice off.
  5. Press SET to confirm the voice setting.
  6. Adjust the volume using the M button, then press SET to confirm.

2.3 Applying the Wrist Cuff

Proper cuff placement is crucial for accurate readings. The universal wrist cuff fits wrist circumferences from 5.3″ to 8.5″ (13.5cm – 21.5cm).

  1. Remove any clothing or jewelry from your left wrist. The left wrist is generally preferred.
  2. With your palm facing up, apply the cuff onto your wrist. The display should be facing you.
  3. Position the cuff approximately 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) down from the end of your wrist bone.
  4. Ensure the cuff is snug but not overly tight. You should be able to insert one finger comfortably between the cuff and your wrist.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Taking a Measurement

For accurate readings, ensure you are relaxed and have avoided strenuous activity, caffeine, or smoking for at least 30 minutes prior. Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor and your arm supported.

  1. Ensure the cuff is correctly applied and positioned at heart level.
  2. Press the Power button (Power button icon) to begin. The cuff will automatically inflate.
  3. Remain still and silent during the measurement.
  4. Once the measurement is complete and all air is deflated, the monitor will display and audibly announce your Systolic, Diastolic, and Pulse readings.

3.2 Understanding Your Readings

The monitor also features a Visual BP Guide on the left side of the display, which uses a color-coded scale to indicate the health range of your blood pressure results. Additionally, it includes an Irregular Heartbeat Detection symbol (Irregular Heartbeat icon) which will appear if an irregular heartbeat is detected during the measurement.

3.3 Memory Recall and User Profiles

The monitor supports up to 4 user profiles, each storing 99 readings (total 396 readings).

  1. To select a user profile, press the SET button repeatedly until the desired user icon (1-4) is displayed.
  2. To recall past measurements, press the M (Memory) button. Each press will cycle through stored readings for the currently selected user.
