2.1 Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown (A) out to position 2.
  2. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time. Ensure you differentiate between AM and PM for correct date change.
  3. Push the crown back to position 0 to start the watch.

2.2 Setting the Date and Day

The watch features a date display and a day of the week subdial.

  1. Pull the crown (A) out to position 1.
  2. Turn the crown clockwise to adjust the date.
  3. Turn the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the day of the week.
  4. Avoid setting the date and day between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this is when the watch's internal mechanism is engaged in changing the date, and manual adjustment can cause damage. If adjustment is needed during this period, first set the time outside this window, adjust the date/day, then reset the time.
  5. Push the crown back to position 0.

2.3 Setting the Moon Phase

The moon phase display is adjusted using a dedicated pusher.

  1. Locate the moon phase pusher (B), typically on the side of the case.
  2. Using a small, non-sharp tool (like a toothpick), press the pusher repeatedly to advance the moon phase display until it shows the current moon phase. Refer to a reliable moon phase calendar for accuracy.
  3. Avoid setting the moon phase between 9 PM and 3 AM, similar to date/day adjustment.

3. Operating Your Watch

3.1 Time Reading

The watch features a classic analog display with hour, minute, and second hands for precise timekeeping.

3.2 Date and Day Display

The date is displayed in a window, and the day of the week is shown on a subdial, providing useful calendar information at a glance.

3.3 Moon Phase Display

The moon phase subdial accurately tracks the lunar cycle, displaying the current phase of the moon.

3.4 Water Resistance

Your Zeppelin 9636-5 watch is water resistant up to 50 meters (5 ATM). This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water. However, it is not suitable for swimming, showering, or diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.

4. Care and Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and mineral glass with a soft, dry cloth. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture and harsh chemicals.

4.2 Leather Strap Care

The brown leather strap is durable but can be affected by sweat, water, and direct sunlight. To prolong its life:

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to water.
  • Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary, then dry thoroughly.
  • Condition periodically with a leather conditioner.

4.3 Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a Swiss Quartz movement with a battery. When the battery runs low, the second hand may start to jump in 4-second intervals (End-of-Life indicator). Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watchmaker or authorized service center to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.

4.4 General Precautions

  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures or sudden temperature changes.
  • Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields.
  • Avoid impacts or drops.
