6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your NT710 unit.
6.1 Device Not Powering On
- Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged. Connect the USB charging cable and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again.
- Verify the power button is pressed and held correctly.
6.2 Communication Error with Vehicle
- Check that the OBDII diagnostic cable is securely connected to both the NT710 and the vehicle's OBDII port.
- Ensure the vehicle's ignition is in the ON position (engine off or running, as required by the specific test).
- Verify that your vehicle model and year are supported by the NT710. Refer to the official FOXWELL website for detailed compatibility lists.
- Update the NT710 software to the latest version, as compatibility improvements are often included in updates.
6.3 Screen Unresponsive or Freezing
- Perform a soft reset by pressing and holding the power button until the device restarts.
- If the issue persists, ensure the device's internal storage is not full. Clear unnecessary data or logs.
6.4 Warning Lights Remain After Clearing Codes
- Ensure the underlying issue causing the fault code has been properly addressed and repaired in the vehicle. Clearing codes only turns off the warning light; it does not fix the problem.
- Some complex systems may require a drive cycle or specific procedures to confirm the repair and turn off the light permanently.
