Your coffee maker is now ready for brewing.
Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to brew a fresh pot of coffee:
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water. Use the glass carafe to measure the desired amount of water (up to 5 cups), referring to the water level markings on the side of the coffee maker. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable mesh filter into the filter basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee to the filter. A general guideline is one level scoop (provided) per cup of coffee, but adjust to your taste.
- Position Carafe: Ensure the empty glass carafe, with its lid on, is securely placed on the warming plate. The auto pause & serve feature requires the carafe to be in place to prevent drips.
- Close Lid: Close the top lid firmly.
- Start Brewing: Plug the coffee maker into an electrical outlet. Press the power switch to turn on the appliance. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
- Auto Pause & Serve: If you wish to pour a cup of coffee before the brewing cycle is complete, you can temporarily remove the carafe. The flow of coffee will automatically pause. Return the carafe to the warming plate within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.
- Keep Warm: Once brewing is complete, the warming plate will keep the coffee hot. The coffee maker will automatically shut off after a period of time (refer to specific model details for exact duration, typically 30 minutes to 2 hours).
- Serve: Carefully remove the carafe from the warming plate and pour your coffee.
- Turn Off: After serving, press the power switch to turn off the coffee maker and unplug it from the outlet.

Care and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure optimal performance and longevity of your coffee maker.
Daily Cleaning:
- Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove the glass carafe, its lid, and the reusable mesh filter. Wash these parts in warm, soapy water. They are also dishwasher safe (top rack recommended).
- Discard used coffee grounds from the reusable filter. Rinse the filter thoroughly under running water.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Do not immerse the main unit of the coffee maker in water or any other liquid.
Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal):
Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance and coffee taste. Descale your coffee maker every 2-4 weeks, depending on water hardness and frequency of use.
- Prepare Solution: Fill the carafe with 1 cup of white vinegar and 2 cups of cold water.
- Run Cycle: Pour the vinegar solution into the water reservoir. Place the reusable filter (without coffee) and the empty carafe on the warming plate. Close the lid.
- Start & Pause: Turn on the coffee maker. Let half of the solution brew through, then turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for at least 15 minutes to allow the vinegar to clean the internal components.
- Complete Cycle: Turn the coffee maker back on and allow the remaining solution to brew through.
- Rinse Cycles: After the vinegar solution has brewed, discard it. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water and run at least two full brewing cycles with only water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste or odor.
Troubleshooting Guide
If you encounter issues with your coffee maker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee does not brew. | No power; water reservoir empty; carafe not in place. | Check power connection; fill water reservoir; ensure carafe is correctly positioned. |
| Coffee is too weak. | Insufficient coffee grounds; coarse grind. | Add more coffee grounds; use a finer grind. |
| Coffee overflows from filter basket. | Too much coffee grounds; filter clogged; carafe removed too long. | Reduce coffee grounds; clean filter; return carafe quickly if using auto pause. |
| Water leaks from base. | Water reservoir overfilled; carafe not properly seated. | Do not exceed MAX fill line; ensure carafe is centered on warming plate. |
| Coffee is not hot enough. | Mineral buildup; warming plate issue. | Perform descaling procedure; ensure warming plate is clean. |
