Setup Guide

1. Initial Opening and Battery Installation

  1. Locate the emergency keyhole, usually concealed behind a plastic cover on the keypad panel.
  2. Remove the plastic cover.
  3. Insert one of the emergency keys into the keyhole and turn it counter-clockwise.
  4. While the key is turned, rotate the knob clockwise to open the safe door.
  5. Inside the safe, locate the battery compartment on the back of the door.
  6. Insert the 4 AA batteries provided, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  7. Close the battery compartment.

2. Mounting the Safe

For enhanced security, it is recommended to mount the safe to a wall or floor using the provided expansion bolts.

  1. Choose a suitable location for mounting, ensuring it is a solid surface (e.g., concrete wall, wooden stud, or floor).
  2. Open the safe door and locate the pre-drilled mounting holes on the back or bottom panel.
  3. Position the safe and mark the drilling points on the wall or floor through the mounting holes.
  4. Drill pilot holes at the marked points using an appropriate drill bit size for the expansion bolts.
  5. Align the safe with the drilled holes.
  6. Insert the expansion bolts through the safe's mounting holes and into the wall/floor.
  7. Tighten the bolts securely until the safe is firmly attached. Do not overtighten.

Operating Instructions

1. Setting/Changing the Passcode

The default passcode is 12345678. It is highly recommended to change this immediately after battery installation.

  1. With the safe door open, press the red reset button located on the inside of the door (usually near the hinge or battery compartment). The indicator light on the keypad will flash.
  2. Enter your desired new passcode (3-8 digits) on the keypad.
  3. Press the '#' button to confirm. The indicator light will stop flashing, indicating the new passcode is set.
  4. Test the new passcode with the door open before closing it.

2. Opening the Safe with Passcode

  1. Enter your personal passcode on the digital keypad.
  2. Press the '#' button. The indicator light will turn green.
  3. Within 5 seconds, turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.

3. Opening the Safe with Emergency Key

This method is used if you forget your passcode or if the batteries are depleted.

  1. Remove the plastic cover over the emergency keyhole on the keypad panel.
  2. Insert an emergency key and turn it counter-clockwise.
  3. While the key is turned, rotate the knob clockwise to open the safe door.

4. Using the External Battery Box

If the internal batteries are depleted and you cannot open the safe with the passcode, use the external battery box.

  1. Insert 4 AA batteries into the external battery box (ensure correct polarity).
  2. Plug the external battery box cable into the emergency power port, usually located near the emergency keyhole or under the keypad.
  3. Enter your passcode on the keypad and press '#'.
  4. Turn the knob clockwise to open the safe.
  5. Once open, replace the internal batteries immediately.

5. Dual Alarm System

The safe is equipped with a dual alarm system to deter unauthorized access.

  • Vibration Alarm: If the safe experiences unusual vibrations or attempts to move it, a high-decibel alarm will sound for 50 seconds.
  • Incorrect Passcode Alarm: If three consecutive incorrect passcode attempts are made, a high-decibel alarm will sound for 50 seconds.
  • To silence the alarm, enter the correct passcode or use the emergency key to open the safe.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator lights up, replace all 4 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation.

  1. Open the safe door.
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the door.
  3. Remove the old batteries and dispose of them responsibly.
  4. Insert 4 new AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Close the battery compartment.

2. Cleaning

Wipe the safe's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish or keypad.

3. Rust Prevention

The safe features a phosphating treatment for rust prevention. To maintain this protection, avoid exposing the safe to excessive moisture or corrosive environments. If the safe gets wet, dry it thoroughly immediately.

Troubleshooting

  • Safe does not open with passcode:
    Solution: Ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace them if necessary. Double-check that the correct passcode is entered. If still unsuccessful, use the emergency key.
  • Keypad is unresponsive:
    Solution: Check battery levels. If batteries are new, ensure they are inserted with correct polarity. If the issue persists, use the external battery box or emergency key.
  • Alarm sounds unexpectedly:
    Solution: The alarm may be triggered by strong vibrations or incorrect passcode attempts. Enter the correct passcode or use the emergency key to disarm.
  • Door does not close properly:
    Solution: Ensure no objects are obstructing the door or locking bolts. Check if the safe is on a level surface.
