Product Overview

The Mecity 51mm Portafilter Funnel is a precision accessory crafted from durable stainless steel, designed to enhance your espresso preparation experience. Its primary function is to sit securely on top of your 51mm portafilter basket, creating a wider opening that guides ground coffee directly into the basket without spillage. This ensures accurate dosing and minimizes mess, contributing to a more consistent and enjoyable brewing process.

• Material: High-quality Stainless Steel
• Compatibility: Specifically designed for 51mm portafilters, compatible with Mecity Espresso Machine CM5203AY (and CM5200US models).
• Function: Prevents coffee grounds from spilling during dosing and tamping.

Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the portafilter funnel from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the portafilter funnel with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely to remove any manufacturing residues.
3. Placement: Place the funnel directly onto the rim of your 51mm portafilter basket. Ensure it sits flush and securely.

Operating Instructions

Using the Mecity Portafilter Funnel is straightforward and designed to streamline your espresso preparation.

1. Attach the Funnel: Place the 51mm Portafilter Funnel onto your portafilter basket. It should rest securely on the rim.
2. Dose Coffee Grounds: Grind your fresh coffee beans and dispense them directly into the portafilter basket through the funnel. The funnel's wide opening will guide all grounds into the basket, preventing spillage.
3. Distribute and Tamp: Once the desired amount of coffee grounds is in the basket, you can use a distribution tool or gently tap the portafilter to settle the grounds. The funnel can remain in place during this step. For tamping, it is recommended to remove the funnel to ensure a level tamp.
4. Remove Funnel: Carefully lift the funnel off the portafilter. Your coffee grounds are now perfectly contained and ready for brewing.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and hygiene of your Mecity Portafilter Funnel.

• Daily Cleaning: After each use, rinse the funnel under warm running water to remove any residual coffee grounds.
• Deep Cleaning: Periodically, wash the funnel with mild dish soap and a soft sponge. Ensure all coffee oils and residues are removed.
• Drying: Always dry the funnel completely after washing to prevent water spots and maintain its pristine appearance.
• Storage: Store the funnel in a clean, dry place when not in use.

Note: While the stainless steel construction is durable, avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could scratch the surface.
