  7. Screw the filter housings back on by hand, then tighten with the wrench. Do not overtighten.
  8. Slowly turn on the main water supply and check for leaks.
  9. Flush the system for several minutes to remove any air and carbon fines.

7. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their solutions:

  • Low Water Pressure:
    Possible Cause: Clogged filters.
Solution: Replace the filter cartridges according to the maintenance schedule. Ensure all valves are fully open.
Possible Cause: Air in the system.
Solution: Flush the system thoroughly after installation or filter replacement to remove trapped air.
  • Leaks from Filter Housings:
Possible Cause: Improperly tightened housings or damaged O-rings.
Solution: Ensure housings are tightened securely with the wrench. Inspect and lubricate or replace O-rings if necessary.
  • Leaks from Inlet/Outlet Connections:
Possible Cause: Insufficient thread sealant or improper connection.
Solution: Turn off water, disconnect, reapply generous amounts of Teflon tape or thread sealant (e.g., 15-20 wraps), and reconnect, ensuring a tight fit. Consider using brass nipples for better sealing if issues persist.
  • Unpleasant Taste or Odor in Filtered Water:
Possible Cause: Spent carbon filter or initial flushing not complete.
Solution: Ensure the system has been flushed for at least 5-10 minutes after installation or filter change. If the issue persists, replace the carbon filter (WD-WF20C).
