4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of the parking assist system. It is recommended to have this installed by a professional if you are not familiar with car electrical systems.
4.1 Sensor Installation
- Choose Sensor Locations: Identify suitable locations on your vehicle's rear bumper for the four sensors. Ensure they are evenly spaced and at a consistent height for accurate detection. Avoid placing them too close to the ground or too high.
- Drill Holes: Use the provided 22mm hole saw to carefully drill holes at the marked locations on the bumper. Ensure the holes are clean and free of burrs.
- Insert Sensors: Gently push each sensor into its respective hole until it sits flush with the bumper surface. Ensure the sensors are oriented correctly (if applicable).
- Route Sensor Cables: Route the sensor cables through the bumper and into the vehicle's trunk or interior, ensuring they are secured and do not interfere with moving parts.
4.2 Main Control Box Installation
- Mount Control Box: Find a secure and dry location in the vehicle's trunk or interior to mount the main control box. Use the double-sided adhesive tapes or screws (not included) to fix it in place.
- Connect Sensors: Connect the cables from the four parking sensors to the corresponding ports on the main control box. Ensure a firm connection.
- Connect Power Cable: Connect the power cable to the main control box. The other end of the power cable, which includes the manual switch and cigarette lighter plug, should be routed to the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
4.3 LED Display Installation
- Position Display: Place the LED display on the dashboard or another visible location within the driver's view. The wireless connection between the main control box and the LED display allows for flexible placement without cable limitations.
- Secure Display: Use the double-sided adhesive tape to secure the LED display in its chosen position.

Figure 4.1: Illustration demonstrating the advantage of wireless connectivity for the LED display, allowing for easier placement compared to wired systems.

Figure 4.2: This diagram illustrates that the system is not limited by distance, making it suitable for larger vehicles such as caravans up to 8 meters long, due to its wireless display connection.
5. Operating Instructions
The parking assist system is designed for simple and intuitive operation.
- Power On: Insert the cigarette lighter plug into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. Turn on the manual switch located on the plug. The system will activate when the vehicle is put into reverse gear.
- Detection: As you reverse, the sensors will detect obstacles behind your vehicle within the 1-8 feet range.
- Visual Warning: The LED display will show the distance to the obstacle in meters and indicate the warning level with colored bars (e.g., green for safe, yellow for caution, red for close).
- Audible Warning: The system will emit beeping sounds. The frequency of the beeps will increase as you get closer to an obstacle, providing an escalating warning.
- Power Off: To turn off the system, simply switch off the manual switch on the cigarette lighter plug. This saves power when the system is not needed.

6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and accurate performance of your parking assist system, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Clean Sensors: Regularly clean the surface of the parking sensors on the bumper. Dirt, mud, snow, or ice can obstruct the sensors and affect their accuracy. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe them clean.
- Check Connections: Periodically inspect all wired connections (sensors to control box, power cable to control box) to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion or damage.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals on the sensors or display, as this may damage the surfaces.
- Protect from Extreme Conditions: While the system is designed to be robust, avoid exposing the main control box and display to extreme temperatures or direct water exposure beyond normal vehicle use.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your parking assist system, refer to the following troubleshooting guide:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
