3. Setup & Installation
Follow these steps carefully for proper installation. Refer to the provided video for visual guidance.
3.1 Rack Installation
- Align one rack with the pinion gear of the motor.
- Mark the drilling points on the gate for the rack.
- Pre-install the racks without fully tightening the screws, ensuring proper alignment with the pinion.
- Repeat for all rack sections, ensuring a small gap (approx. 1mm) between rack sections to allow for thermal expansion.
- Once all racks are in place and aligned, securely tighten all self-tapping screws.
Video 3.1: Detailed guide on installing the gate racks and motor unit. This video demonstrates drilling holes based on gear height, pre-installing racks, threading power lines, connecting wires to the mainboard, and securing the gate opener to its base.
3.2 Motor Unit Installation
- Prepare a stable concrete base for the motor unit.
- Thread the power line through the pre-cast concrete base and the wire hole in the gate opener.
- Place the motor unit on the mounting plate, ensuring the pinion aligns with the gate rack.
- Secure the gate opener to the base using the provided foundation bolts. Refer to the manual for appropriate drilling and fixing methods.
- Connect the power line's three wires (Live, Neutral, Ground) to the mainboard. Ensure the ground wire is not mixed with live or neutral wires.
3.3 Limit Switch Installation
The limit switches define the open and closed positions of the gate.
- Assemble the high and low magnetic limit switches.
- To install the high magnetic limit switch: Power on the opener, manually move the gate to the far right, then move it 2-4 inches to the left. Slide the high limit switch along the rack to the right until the 13th indicator light on the mainboard lights up. Secure with screws.
- To install the low magnetic limit switch: Manually move the gate to the far left, then move it 2-4 inches to the right. Slide the low limit switch along the rack to the left until the 13th indicator light on the mainboard lights up. Secure with screws.
3.4 Infrared Sensor Installation
Infrared sensors provide an essential safety feature, stopping the gate if an obstruction is detected.
- Connect the receiver V+ to 24V, V- and COM to GND, and NC to IR.
- Connect the transmitter V+ to 24V and V- to GND.
- Match transmitter and receiver wires based on colors. Twist together transmitter V+ with receiver V+ and transmitter V- with receiver V- and COM.
- Disconnect the mainboard signal terminal, and remove the short circuit. Connect all the wires to the signal terminal, and then plug it back in.
- Align and install the transmitter and receiver in the desired location, ensuring they are at the same height.
- After installation, the 8th indicator light on the mainboard lights up with no detected obstacles and goes out if obstacles are detected.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Remote Control Pairing
To pair your remote control with the gate opener:
- Hold down the S1 button on the mainboard until the nearby indicator light turns on.
- Press the remote button twice. If the indicator light flashes and goes out, your remote is paired.
4.2 Basic Operation
- Press the paired remote button to open or close the gate.
- The gate features soft start and stop for smooth operation.
- Pedestrian Mode: Allows the gate to open partially for pedestrian access. Refer to the mainboard settings for configuration.
- Automatic Closing: The gate can be set to close automatically after 15, 30, or 45 seconds.
4.3 Safety Features Test
Regularly test the safety features to ensure proper functionality.
- Infrared Sensors: To test, press the remote button to close the gate. Walk through the infrared beam. The gate should stop and retract. Infrared sensors are inactive during opening.
- If the gate closes when a pedestrian passes during opening but not during closing, adjust DIP 2 on the mainboard.
5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your CO-Z Sliding Gate Motor, regular maintenance is recommended.
- Cleanliness: Keep the motor unit and gate tracks free from dirt, debris, and leaves.
- Lubrication: Periodically lubricate the gate rollers and hinges with appropriate grease. Avoid lubricating the gear rack.
- Inspection: Regularly check all mounting bolts, screws, and electrical connections for tightness and wear.
- Sensor Check: Ensure infrared sensors are clean and properly aligned.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your gate opener, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Gate does not respond to remote. | Remote not paired; low remote battery; power outage. | Re-pair remote; replace battery; check power supply. |
| Gate stops unexpectedly. | Obstacle detected by infrared sensors; limit switch issue. | Clear obstruction; check sensor alignment; verify limit switch positions. |
| Gate opens/closes partially. | Limit switches incorrectly set. | Adjust high and low magnetic limit switches. |
| Motor makes noise but gate doesn't move. | Manual release engaged; obstruction in gate track. | Disengage manual release; clear gate track. |
