7. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and descaling will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your coffee maker.
Daily Cleaning:
- Drip Tray: Remove and empty the drip tray after each use. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Filter Holders: Remove and rinse the K-Cup holder or ground coffee holder after each use. For ground coffee, discard used grounds.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Descaling (Every 3-6 Months or as needed):
Descaling removes mineral buildup that can affect performance and taste. The machine has a dedicated descaling mode.
- Prepare Solution: Mix 20g of citric acid with 12oz of water. Alternatively, use a commercial descaling solution designed for coffee makers.
- Fill Reservoir: Pour the descaling solution into the water reservoir.
- Start Descaling Mode: Place an empty mug on the drip tray. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds. A red indicator light will start flashing, indicating the descaling process has begun.
- Rinse Cycles: After the descaling cycle is complete, discard the solution. Fill the reservoir with 12oz of fresh water and run a brewing cycle to rinse the machine. Repeat this rinsing process at least 3 times to ensure all descaling solution is flushed out.
- Ready for Use: The unit is now cleaned and ready to brew coffee again.

Image: A visual guide demonstrating the descaling process: 1. Pour 12oz of descaling solution (20g citric acid with 12oz water) into the water reservoir. 2. Touch the button once to turn on, then long press for 3 seconds to start descaling mode. 3. Repeat descaling mode at least 3 times with 12oz of fresh water to rinse the product. 4. Discard the water afterwards. The unit is cleaned and ready to brew coffee.
