4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to safely operate your Comfort Gear PPH10 heater.
4.1 Ignition

- Ensure the propane tank is securely connected and there are no leaks.
- Turn the control knob counter-clockwise to the desired heat setting (e.g., 5,500 BTU or 10,000 BTU).
- Press and hold the control knob inward while simultaneously pressing the piezo igniter button. You should hear a click and see the radiant element ignite.
- Continue to hold the control knob inward for 30-60 seconds after ignition to allow the thermocouple to heat up and engage the safety valve.
- Release the control knob. If the heater does not remain lit, repeat steps 2-4.
4.2 Adjusting Heat Output
Rotate the control knob to select between the 5,500 BTU (low) and 10,000 BTU (high) settings as needed. Always ensure the heater remains properly ventilated.
4.3 Shutting Down
- Turn the control knob clockwise to the "OFF" position.
- Allow the heater to cool completely before moving or storing.
- If disconnecting the propane tank, do so outdoors in a well-ventilated area.

- Disconnect the propane tank before storing. Never store a propane tank indoors or in an enclosed vehicle.
- Store the heater in its original packaging or cover it to protect it from dust.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your heater, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater does not ignite. | No propane supply, igniter issue, air in line. | Check propane tank level and connection. Ensure control knob is pressed in during ignition. Purge air by attempting ignition several times. |
| Heater ignites but goes out when knob is released. | Thermocouple not heated sufficiently, faulty thermocouple. | Hold control knob in for a longer period (30-60 seconds) after ignition. If problem persists, contact customer support. |
| Heater shuts off unexpectedly during operation. | Low oxygen (ODS activated), heater tipped over, low fuel. | Ensure adequate ventilation. Check if heater was tipped. Check propane tank level. |
| Weak flame or low heat output. | Low propane, partially clogged burner. | Replace propane tank. Ensure burner is clean and free of debris. |
If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, do not attempt to repair the heater yourself. Contact customer support for assistance.
