2. Safety Instructions
Read all instructions before using the appliance to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons. Keep this manual for future reference.
2.1 Important Safety Warnings
- Always follow basic precautions, including the following:
- Do not wash articles that have been previously cleaned in, washed in, soaked in, or spotted with gasoline, dry-cleaning solvents, or other flammable or explosive substances, as they give off vapors that could ignite or explode.
- Do not allow children to play on or in the appliance. Close supervision of children is necessary when the appliance is used near children.
- Before the appliance is removed from service or discarded, remove the door to the washing compartment.
- Do not reach into the appliance if the tub or agitator is moving.
- Do not install or store this appliance where it will be exposed to the weather.
- Do not tamper with controls.
- Do not repair or replace any part of the appliance or attempt any servicing unless specifically recommended in the user-maintenance instructions or in published user-repair instructions that you understand and have the skills to carry out.
2.2 Shipping Bolt Removal
Failure to remove the shipping bolts can cause severe unbalancing and damage to the washer during operation. These bolts secure the drum during transit and must be removed before first use.

3. Installation
3.1 Unpacking and Placement
Carefully remove all packaging materials. Ensure the appliance is placed on a firm, level surface. The washer's dimensions are approximately 34"D x 27"W x 40"H.

3.2 Leveling the Appliance
The washing machine is equipped with adjustable leveling legs. Use a wrench to adjust the legs until the appliance is perfectly level and stable. Proper leveling prevents excessive vibration and noise during operation.
3.3 Water and Drain Connections
Connect the hot and cold water supply hoses to the corresponding inlets on the back of the washer. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks. Position the drain hose securely into a standpipe or laundry tub, ensuring it is not kinked or obstructed.
3.4 Electrical Connection
Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Refer to the specifications section for electrical requirements.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Control Panel Overview
The SMETA FONTL-180 features an intuitive control panel with a rotary dial for cycle selection and a touchscreen for additional settings and customization.

4.2 Loading Laundry
Open the door and load clothes into the drum. Do not overload the machine; ensure there is enough space for clothes to tumble freely. The machine has a capacity of up to 40 lbs (18 kg) of laundry.

4.3 Selecting a Wash Cycle
Turn the rotary dial to select one of the 12 available wash programs:
- Normal/Colors
- Bulky/Sheets
- Heavy Duty
- Whites
- Towels
- Sanitize
- Quick Wash (40 minutes)
- Delicates
- Baby Care
- Sportswear
- Tub Clean
- Rinse & Spin
4.4 Customizing Settings
After selecting a cycle, use the touchscreen to adjust settings such as:
- Temperature: Choose from 5 settings including Warm, Cold, Hot, Extra Hot, Tap Cold.
- Soil Level: Adjust for light, medium, heavy, or extra heavy soil.
- Spin Speed: Select desired spin speed up to 1300 RPM.
- Steam Function: Activates steam for enhanced cleaning and wrinkle reduction.
- Water Plus: Adds more water to the wash cycle.
- Extra Rinse: Adds an additional rinse cycle.
- Pre Soak: Soaks clothes before the main wash.
- Delay: Set a delayed start time for the wash cycle.
- Child Lock: Locks the control panel to prevent accidental changes.
- Add Garments: Allows you to pause the cycle and add forgotten items.
4.5 Starting a Cycle
Once laundry is loaded and settings are selected, press the 'Start' button to begin the wash cycle. The machine features Auto Unbalancing Detection to ensure stable operation.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Tub Clean Cycle
Regularly use the 'Tub Clean' cycle to clean the washing machine's drum and prevent residue buildup and odors. It is recommended to run this cycle at least once per month. Do not load laundry during the Tub Clean cycle.

5.2 Cleaning the Door Gasket
Inspect and clean the door gasket regularly to remove any lint, hair, or foreign objects that may accumulate. This prevents mold growth and ensures a proper seal.

5.3 Exterior Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the washing machine with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your washing machine, refer to the following common problems and solutions. For more complex issues, contact customer support.
6.1 Common Issues
- Washer does not start: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged in, the door is fully closed, and the 'Start' button has been pressed. Check if the Child Lock is activated.
- No water filling: Verify that water supply valves are fully open and water hoses are not kinked.
- Excessive vibration/noise: Ensure the shipping bolts have been removed (refer to Section 2.2) and the appliance is properly leveled (refer to Section 3.2). Avoid overloading the machine. The Auto Unbalancing Detection system will attempt to rebalance the load.
- Water leaks: Check all hose connections for tightness. Inspect the door gasket for debris or damage.
- Clothes not clean: Ensure proper detergent usage and load size. Select an appropriate wash cycle and temperature for the fabric type and soil level.
