4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning the Watch
Regularly clean your watch to maintain its appearance and functionality. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the screen and watch body. For the strap, follow the manufacturer's recommendations based on the material (e.g., composite strap can be wiped with a damp cloth). Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
4.2 Battery Care
To prolong battery life, avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures. Charge the watch regularly, but avoid leaving it fully charged or fully depleted for extended periods. For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50%.
4.3 Software Updates
Ensure your watch's software is up to date by checking for updates through the HUAWEI Health app. Software updates often include performance improvements, new features, and bug fixes.
5. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your HUAWEI Watch GT 4.
- Watch not turning on: Ensure the watch is fully charged. Connect it to the charger and wait a few minutes before attempting to power it on.
- Cannot pair with phone: Check that Bluetooth is enabled on both devices. Ensure the HUAWEI Health app is installed and updated. Try restarting both the watch and the phone.
- Inaccurate heart rate readings: Ensure the watch is worn snugly on your wrist, not too loose or too tight. Clean the sensor on the back of the watch.
- Short battery life: Review your usage patterns. Frequent GPS use, continuous heart rate monitoring, and high screen brightness can reduce battery life. Adjust settings in the HUAWEI Health app.
- Notifications not appearing: Check notification settings in the HUAWEI Health app and your phone's system settings to ensure the app has necessary permissions.
