6. Installation
The DDS5188 energy meter is designed for Din rail mounting. Follow these steps for proper installation:
- Preparation: Ensure the main power supply to the circuit where the meter will be installed is completely disconnected. Use appropriate safety equipment.
- Mounting: Clip the meter onto a standard 35mm Din rail in a suitable electrical enclosure. Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Wiring: Refer to the wiring diagram below for correct connections.

Figure 6.1: Back view of the MOBYAT DDS5188 KWH Energy Meter showing the wiring diagram. This diagram illustrates the connection points for the single-phase AC input (L and N) and the load, along with pulse output terminals (SO). The diagram also includes product identifiers like "2204242768".
- Connect the incoming live wire (L) to terminal 1.
- Connect the outgoing live wire (L) to the load from terminal 3.
- Connect the incoming neutral wire (N) to terminal 4.
- Connect the outgoing neutral wire (N) to the load from terminal 6.
- Optional: Connect pulse output (SO) terminals 20 and 21 for remote monitoring, if applicable.
- Verification: Double-check all connections for tightness and correctness. Ensure no bare wires are exposed.
- Power On: Restore power to the circuit. The LCD display should illuminate and begin showing energy consumption.
7. Operating Instructions
The DDS5188 meter operates automatically once correctly installed and powered. It continuously measures and displays the total active energy consumption.
- LCD Display: The 5+1 digit LCD display shows the total accumulated energy consumption in kilowatt-hours (KWH). The last digit (after the decimal point) represents tenths of a KWH.
- Pulse Indicator: A red LED indicator (often labeled "IMP" or similar) will flash proportionally to the energy consumption, indicating active measurement.
- No User Interaction: This meter is designed for direct measurement and does not typically feature user-configurable settings or buttons for resetting readings. The total KWH reading is cumulative.
8. Maintenance
The MOBYAT DDS5188 energy meter requires minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the meter. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the wiring connections to ensure they remain tight and free from corrosion.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified humidity (20-80%) and temperature ranges to prolong the meter's lifespan.
- No User Serviceable Parts: Do not attempt to open or repair the meter. Refer any issues to qualified personnel.
