6. Installation

The DDS667 energy meter is designed for 35mm DIN rail installation. Ensure power is disconnected before proceeding with installation.

6.1 Mounting

  1. Locate a suitable 35mm DIN rail within your electrical panel.
  2. Align the meter's DIN rail clip with the rail.
  3. Press the meter firmly onto the DIN rail until it clicks into place.

6.2 Wiring Diagram (DDS667 Model)

The DDS667 model supports two wiring configurations. Always ensure correct polarity (Live 'L' and Neutral 'N') and secure connections.

Wiring diagram for the DDS667 energy meter, showing connections to a circuit breaker and a load. Live (L) and Neutral (N) inputs and outputs are clearly marked.

Figure 6.1: Wiring diagram for the DDS667 energy meter. This diagram illustrates how to connect the meter in a single-phase circuit, typically between a circuit breaker and the load, ensuring proper Live (L) and Neutral (N) connections.

  • Connect the incoming Live (L) wire to the 'L' input terminal.
  • Connect the incoming Neutral (N) wire to the 'N' input terminal.
  • Connect the outgoing Live (L) wire to the 'L' output terminal, leading to the load.
  • Connect the outgoing Neutral (N) wire to the 'N' output terminal, leading to the load.
  • Double-check all connections before restoring power.

7. Operation

Once installed and powered, the meter will automatically display electrical parameters on its LCD screen.

7.1 Display Functions

The DDS667 meter cycles through various parameters on its LCD display. You can manually switch between these displays by pressing the "PRESS" button located on the front panel.

  • Total Energy (kWh): Cumulative energy consumption, cannot be reset.
  • Temporary Energy (kWh): Resettable energy consumption for specific periods.
  • Real Voltage (V): Instantaneous voltage of the circuit.
  • Real Current (A): Instantaneous current flowing through the circuit.
  • Real Power (W): Instantaneous active power consumption.

7.2 Resetting Temporary Energy (kWh)

To reset the Temporary Energy (kWh) reading to zero:

  1. Ensure the meter is displaying the "Temporary Energy (kWh)" value.
  2. Press and hold the "PRESS" button for approximately 6 seconds.
  3. The Temporary Energy (kWh) value will reset to 0.00.

Note: The Total Energy (kWh) cannot be reset.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Meter display is blank. No power supply; incorrect wiring.Check power connections and ensure power is supplied to the meter. Verify wiring against the diagram.
Readings are incorrect or fluctuating.Loose connections; electromagnetic interference; faulty meter.Tighten all wiring connections. Relocate the meter away from strong interference sources if possible. If problem persists, contact support.
Temporary kWh will not reset.Button not held long enough; attempting to reset Total kWh.Ensure you are viewing Temporary kWh and hold the "PRESS" button for at least 6 seconds. Remember, Total kWh cannot be reset.
Pulse LED not flashing. No load connected; meter not functioning.Ensure a load is connected and drawing power. If a load is present and the LED is still off, contact support.

9. Maintenance

  • Keep the meter clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Regularly check wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or damage.
  • Ensure the operating environment is within the specified temperature and humidity ranges.
