1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the installation and proper handling of your A-Tech 16GB DDR4 2133MHz PC4-17000 DIMM memory module. This module is designed to enhance the performance of compatible Fujitsu ESPRIMO desktop systems by expanding their memory capacity.

A-Tech memory modules undergo rigorous quality control testing to ensure dependable and reliable performance.

2. Safety Information

Please read and understand the following safety precautions before installing the memory module:

  • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Prevention: Memory modules are sensitive to static electricity. Always handle the module by its edges and avoid touching the gold connector pins or the integrated circuits. Consider using an anti-static wrist strap or grounding yourself by touching a metal, unpainted part of your computer chassis before handling the module.
  • Power Off: Ensure your computer is completely powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet before opening the case or installing any components.
  • System Manual: Always refer to your computer system's official manual for specific instructions on opening the case, locating memory slots, and any specific seating or channel guidelines.
  • Compatibility: Verify that the memory module is compatible with your system model before installation. This module is specifically designed for Fujitsu ESPRIMO D556/E90+, D756, D956/E90+, D956/E94+, P756 E85+, P756 E90+, P956 E90+, PH556, PH556 E85 desktop systems.

3. Package Contents

Your package should contain the following item:

  • One (1) A-Tech 16GB DDR4 2133MHz PC4-17000 DIMM Memory Module (Model: ASR562)

4. Installation Guide

Follow these steps to install the A-Tech memory module into your compatible Fujitsu ESPRIMO desktop system. It is recommended to consult your computer's specific manual for detailed instructions on accessing and installing memory.

  1. Prepare Your System:
    • Save all open work and close all running applications.
    • Shut down your computer completely.
    • Unplug the power cord and all other cables (monitor, keyboard, mouse, USB devices, etc.) from the back of the computer.
    • Move the computer to a clean, flat, and static-free work surface.
  2. Open the Computer Case:
    • Refer to your computer's manual for instructions on how to safely open the case. This usually involves removing screws and sliding off a side panel.
  3. Ground Yourself:
    • Before touching any internal components, ground yourself to discharge any static electricity. You can do this by touching an unpainted metal part of the computer chassis.
  4. Locate Memory Slots:
    • Identify the DIMM memory slots on your motherboard. These are typically long slots with clips on either end.
    • Note the orientation of any existing memory modules or the empty slots.

  5. Install the Memory Module:
    • Gently push open the clips at both ends of the memory slot.
    • Align the notch on the bottom edge of the A-Tech memory module with the corresponding key in the DIMM slot. The module will only fit one way.
    • Place the module into the slot and press down firmly and evenly on both ends until the clips snap into place, securing the module. Do not force the module if it does not seat easily. Recheck alignment.
  6. Close the Computer Case:
    • Once the memory module is securely installed, reattach the side panel of your computer case and secure it with screws.
  7. Reconnect and Power On:
    • Reconnect all cables to your computer.
    • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
    • Power on your computer. The system should automatically detect the new memory. You may need to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup to confirm the new memory configuration, though this is often not required.

5. Operating Information

Once installed, the A-Tech memory module operates automatically as part of your computer's system memory (RAM). It does not require any user interaction for its basic function.

The primary benefit of upgrading your system's RAM is improved multitasking capability and overall system responsiveness. With increased memory, your computer can handle more applications simultaneously and process larger datasets more efficiently.

6. Maintenance

Memory modules generally require minimal maintenance. However, proper handling and environmental conditions are important for longevity:

  • Handling: Always handle the module by its edges. Avoid touching the gold contacts or the chips.
  • Cleaning: If necessary, gently clean the module with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials. For the gold contacts, a specialized electronics contact cleaner can be used sparingly, but typically is not required.
  • Storage: If storing the module, keep it in an anti-static bag to protect it from electrostatic discharge and dust.
  • Environment: Ensure your computer operates in a well-ventilated area to prevent excessive heat buildup, which can affect all internal components, including RAM.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues after installing the memory module, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Computer Does Not Boot or Beeps:
    • Ensure the memory module is fully seated in its slot. Gently press down on both ends until the clips snap into place.
    • Verify the module's notch is correctly aligned with the slot's key.
    • Try reseating the module in a different slot, if available.
    • If multiple modules are installed, try booting with only the new A-Tech module, or with only the original modules to isolate the issue.
    • Consult your motherboard's manual for beep codes, which often indicate memory-related problems.
  • Incorrect Memory Amount Detected:
    • Check your system's BIOS/UEFI settings to confirm the detected memory.
    • Ensure the module is fully seated.
    • Verify that your operating system (especially 32-bit versions) supports the full amount of installed RAM. 64-bit operating systems are required to utilize more than 4GB of RAM.
  • System Instability or Crashes:
    • Run a memory diagnostic tool (e.g., Windows Memory Diagnostic, MemTest86) to check for errors.
    • Ensure your system's BIOS/UEFI is up to date.
    • Verify that the memory speed and voltage are correctly configured in the BIOS/UEFI, if applicable (this module operates at standard 1.2V DDR4).

If problems persist, contact A-Tech Technical Support for further assistance.
