3. Setup and Assembly
3.1 Attaching the Auxiliary Handle
The auxiliary handle provides better control and stability during operation. It can be rotated 360 degrees for optimal positioning.
- Loosen the auxiliary handle by twisting it counter-clockwise.
- Slide the handle onto the front of the drill body.
- Rotate the handle to the desired position.
- Tighten the handle by twisting it clockwise until secure.
3.2 Installing/Changing SDS Plus Bits
The SDS Plus chuck allows for quick and secure bit changes without the need for additional tools.
- Clean the shank of the drill bit or chisel.
- Pull back the chuck collar on the drill.
- Insert the SDS Plus bit into the chuck until it clicks into place.
- Release the chuck collar. Pull on the bit to ensure it is securely locked. A slight axial play is normal for SDS Plus systems.
- To remove, pull back the chuck collar and pull the bit out.
3.3 Installing the Keyless Quick-Change Chuck
For standard drill bits (non-SDS), use the included keyless quick-change chuck.
- Ensure the SDS Plus chuck is empty.
- Pull back the SDS Plus chuck collar.
- Insert the shaft of the keyless quick-change chuck into the SDS Plus chuck until it clicks.
- Release the SDS Plus chuck collar.
- To insert a standard drill bit, twist the front of the keyless chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws, insert the bit, then twist clockwise to tighten.
- To remove the keyless chuck, pull back the SDS Plus chuck collar and pull the keyless chuck out.
3.4 Setting the Depth Gauge
The depth gauge helps achieve consistent drilling depths for blind holes.
- Loosen the auxiliary handle.
- Slide the depth gauge through the hole in the auxiliary handle.
- Adjust the depth gauge so that the distance from the tip of the drill bit to the end of the depth gauge is your desired drilling depth.
- Tighten the auxiliary handle to secure the depth gauge in place.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Function Selector
The Ingco RGH9528-2 offers four operating modes, selected via the function selector button (refer to Figure 2.3 for location):
- Drilling (Rotation Only): For drilling in wood, metal, ceramics, and plastic. Use with the keyless quick-change chuck and standard drill bits.
- Hammer Drilling (Rotation with Hammering): For drilling in concrete, masonry, and stone. Use with SDS Plus drill bits.
- Chiseling (Hammering Only): For light chiseling, chipping, and demolition work. Use with SDS Plus chisels.
- Chisel Position Adjustment: Allows rotating the chisel to the desired angle without hammering.
Caution: Always ensure the tool is unplugged before changing the function mode.
4.2 Starting and Stopping
- Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet (220-240V ~ 50/60Hz).
- To start the tool, press the switch trigger.
- To stop the tool, release the switch trigger.
- For continuous operation, press the switch trigger and then press the lock-on button. To release, press the switch trigger again.
