Setup and Installation
The RealTruck Extang Endure ALX Tonneau Cover is designed for straightforward installation. Ensure your truck bed rails are clean and free of debris before starting.
Tools Required
- T27 Torx Wrench (included)
- T20 Torx Wrench (included)
- 2.5mm Allen Wrench (included)
- Utility Knife (if trimming bed rail caps is necessary)
- Tape Measure
- Pliers
1. Unpacking and Initial Placement
Carefully remove the fully assembled tonneau cover from its packaging. Place the folded cover assembly onto the truck bed rails near the cab, ensuring the buckles are facing towards the cab.

Unbuckle the retaining straps and carefully unfold the cover towards the tailgate. Remove any foam blocks or packing materials.
2. Positioning and Alignment
Adjust the cover's position so it is evenly spaced from side to side between the bed rails. Verify the front and rear positioning.
- At the tailgate, lift the cover slightly to confirm that the two rearmost fin seals make contact across the top of the tailgate. Adjust the cover's fore/aft position as needed.
- At the front of the cover, lift the corner to ensure the rubber seal is compressed against the top of the bulkhead. Adjust as needed.

3. Installing Front Clamps
Carefully fold the bed cover panels forward until they are stacked behind the cab, ensuring not to shift the cover's alignment.
Locate the front clamp mechanism underneath the cover. Rotate the clamp down and slide it out towards the bed rail. Ensure the hook of the clamp is positioned under the metal bed rail flange. Hand-tighten the clamp until the hook makes direct contact with the metal flange, then tighten an additional two turns. Do not overtighten or use power tools.
If your truck has plastic caps over the bed rails, ensure the plastic does not extend past the sheet metal. If it does, carefully trim the plastic with a utility knife to expose the lower edge of the sheet metal for proper clamp contact.

4. Installing Rear Striker Brackets
Close the bed cover and open the tailgate. Secure the striker bracket to the bottom of the metal bed rail so that the bracket's hoop is aligned with and engages the latch assembly on the underside of the cover. Use the provided T27 Torx wrench to tighten the attaching screws while maintaining alignment. Do not overtighten.
The latch assembly comes partially tightened from the factory. Use the provided T20 Torx wrench to loosen the latch mechanism, allowing it to slide side-to-side for proper alignment with the striker bracket. Once aligned, hand-tighten the front screw on both the driver and passenger side latches. Do not use power tools.
5. Final Adjustments and Tether Straps
With the tailgate open, loosen the two striker bracket screws slightly using the T27 Torx wrench. Move the striker bracket downward to pull the cover down, firmly meeting the bed cap and tailgate cap. Ensure both sides are level and uniform. Re-tighten the screws using the T27 Torx wrench.
The cover features two tether straps pre-installed over the bow at the front of the cover assembly. Each has a clamp fitted to the end. Install the tether clamp to the bed side rail as far forward as possible. Hand-tighten the knob on the clamp.

Important: Do not drive with the cover unsecured or in a partially open position without properly securing the tether straps.

Maintenance
- Regularly inspect all clamps, latches, and hardware for tightness. Re-tighten as necessary, especially after the first week of driving and periodically thereafter.

Troubleshooting
- Cover difficult to close/latch: Adjust the striker bracket slightly upward.
