1. Introduction

The Maxcio Energy Consumption Meter (Model PMB08) is designed to help you monitor and understand the electricity usage of your household appliances. This device measures various electrical parameters, including power, current, voltage, and energy consumption (kWh), providing valuable data to manage your electricity bills and reduce energy waste. It features an updated design with a "HISTORY" button for easy access to historical data, a backlit LCD, and overload protection.

2. Safety Information

  • Do not disassemble or modify the device. Unauthorized modifications may lead to electric shock or fire.

Display and Buttons:

The large LCD screen displays various measurement parameters. Below the screen are five buttons:

  • ENERGY: Cycles through different energy-related display modes (Voltage, Current, Power, Frequency, Power Factor, Min/Max Power).
  • COST: Displays cost-related information and allows setting electricity price.
  • RESET: Clears all accumulated data and settings. Use a small pin or clip to press this recessed button.
  • HISTORY: Accesses historical data records.
  • UP: Used for adjusting settings, such as electricity price.

4. Setup

  1. Initial Connection: Plug the Maxcio Energy Consumption Meter into a standard wall outlet. The LCD screen will illuminate, and the device will power on.
  2. Connect Appliance: Plug the appliance you wish to monitor into the socket on the front of the Maxcio meter.
  3. Set Electricity Price (Optional but Recommended):
    • Press the COST button until the cost setting mode is displayed.
    • Use the UP button to adjust the electricity price per kWh. Refer to your electricity bill for the most accurate rate.
    • Press COST again to confirm and exit the setting mode.

5. Operation

Monitoring Modes:

The Maxcio meter offers 7 monitoring modes. Press the ENERGY button to cycle through these modes:

  1. Mode 1: Voltage (V), Current (A), Power (W) - Displays real-time electrical parameters.
  2. Mode 2: Frequency (Hz), Power Factor (PF), Accumulated Energy (kWh) - Shows grid frequency, power factor, and total energy consumed.
  3. Mode 3: Time, Cost - Displays the duration of monitoring and the calculated electricity cost.
  4. Mode 4: Daily Energy Consumption (kWh) - Shows energy consumption for the current day.
  5. Mode 5: Weekly Energy Consumption (kWh) - Shows energy consumption for the current week.
  6. Mode 6: Monthly Energy Consumption (kWh) - Shows energy consumption for the current month.
  7. Mode 7: Overload Warning (W) - Displays the current power and indicates "OVERLOAD" if the limit is exceeded.

Accessing Historical Data:

Press the HISTORY button to view past energy consumption data. This feature allows you to track usage over time and identify trends.

Resetting Data:

To clear all accumulated data and reset the meter, use a small pin or clip to press the recessed RESET button. This is useful when starting a new measurement period for a different appliance.

  • Overload Protection: If the current exceeds 16A or the load power surpasses 3680W, the meter will automatically stop and display "OVERLOAD" on the screen, blinking to alert the user.

  • Data Storage: Equipped with a built-in backup battery (NiMH), the meter retains all configuration settings and accumulated data even when unplugged or during a power outage. This prevents data loss and eliminates the need for re-configuration.

  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Store the meter in a cool, dry place when not in use.

8. Troubleshooting
