1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using your Tefal OptiGrill 2in1 XL. Retain this manual for future reference.

• Always ensure the appliance is connected to a grounded electrical outlet.

• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
• Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
• This appliance is for household use only.

3. Setup and First Use

Unpacking:

1. Carefully remove the grill and all accessories from the packaging.
2. Remove any protective films or packaging materials from the appliance.
3. Wash the grilling plates and the drip tray with warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely. Alternatively, they can be cleaned in a dishwasher.

Assembling the Grill:

1. Ensure the grill is placed on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface.
2. Insert the clean grilling plates into their respective slots on the upper and lower parts of the grill until they click into place.
3. Slide the drip tray into the designated slot at the front of the grill to collect excess fat and juices during cooking.

Before First Use:

Before cooking food for the first time, preheat the grill without food inside. This helps to burn off any manufacturing residues and ensures optimal performance.

1. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
2. Press the power button. The indicator light will turn violet, indicating preheating.
3. Once preheating is complete, the indicator light will turn green and an audible signal will sound. The grill is now ready for use.

Automatic Grilling Programs:

The OptiGrill 2in1 XL features 12 pre-set programs that automatically adjust grilling time and temperature based on the food type and thickness. Ensure food is at room temperature for best results.

1. Plug in the grill and press the power button.
2. Select the desired program using the program selection buttons. The selected program icon will illuminate.
3. Press the "OK" button to confirm your selection and start preheating. The indicator light will turn violet.
4. Once preheating is complete (indicator turns green, audible signal), place your food on the grilling plates. Close the lid.
5. The grill will automatically detect the thickness and begin cooking. The indicator light will change color to show the cooking progress:
   • Violet: Preheating
   • Blue, then Green: Start of cooking
   • Yellow: Rare/Bloody
   • Orange: Medium
   • Red: Well-done/Durchgebraten
   An audible signal will sound at each stage.
6. Remove food when your desired cooking level is reached.

Manual Mode:

For foods not covered by the automatic programs, or for custom grilling, use the manual mode.

1. Plug in the grill and press the power button.
2. Press the "M" button to activate manual mode.
3. Use the temperature selection buttons (if available, not explicitly shown but implied by "M" button) to set your desired temperature.
4. Press "OK" to start preheating.
5. Once preheated, place your food on the plates and monitor cooking manually.
