1. Product Overview

The DARKBEAM DB05 Bike Headlight and Taillight Set provides essential illumination for cycling, enhancing visibility and safety during night rides and outdoor adventures. This set features an ultra-bright headlight with multiple modes and a warning taillight, both rechargeable via USB-C and designed for durability in various weather conditions.

2. Setup and Installation

Headlight Installation:

1. Fix the mount bracket securely onto your bicycle's handlebar.
2. Buckle the strap on the mount bracket to ensure a snug fit.
3. Press the quick-release clip on the headlight unit and slide it onto the mounted bracket until it locks into place.

Taillight Installation:

1. Choose the desired mounting position on your bike's seat post or frame.
2. Buckle the strap on the taillight around the chosen position, ensuring it is secure.
3. Adjust the taillight's orientation (horizontal or vertical) as needed for optimal visibility.

3. Operating Instructions

Headlight Modes:

Press the power button on the headlight to cycle through the 6 available lighting modes:

• Strong Light Broad: High intensity wide beam.
• Low Light Broad: Lower intensity wide beam.
• High Spotlight: Focused high intensity beam.
• Low Spotlight: Focused lower intensity beam.
• Strong Light Full Light: Combination of broad and spotlight for maximum illumination.
• Flash: Flashing mode for increased visibility.

Taillight Modes:

Press the power button on the taillight to cycle through the 5 available lighting modes:

• High Mode: Constant high intensity red light.
• Low Mode: Constant low intensity red light.
• Slow Flash Mode: Slow flashing red light.
• Super Flash Mode: Rapid flashing red light.
• Breathing Mode: Pulsating red light.

Charging:

Both the headlight and taillight are rechargeable via USB-C. Connect the provided USB-C cables to the charging ports on each light and to a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer, power bank, wall adapter). The headlight features a 4-LED power indicator to show the charging status and remaining battery life.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your DARKBEAM bike lights, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Wipe the lights with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Water Exposure: While the lights are IPX5 waterproof, avoid prolonged submersion in water. Ensure the USB-C port cover is securely closed when not charging, especially in wet conditions.
• Battery Care: Recharge the lights regularly, even if not used frequently, to maintain battery health. Avoid fully depleting the battery before recharging.
• Storage: Store the lights in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your DARKBEAM bike lights, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

• Light Not Turning On: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and check the LED indicator. If the light still doesn't turn on, try pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds.
• Dim Light Output: The battery might be low. Recharge the light fully. Ensure the lens is clean and free from dirt or obstructions.
• Charging Issues: Verify that the USB-C cable is properly connected to both the light and the power source. Try a different USB-C cable or power adapter. Ensure the charging port is clean.
• Light Malfunctions in Wet Conditions: Ensure the USB-C port cover is fully sealed. While IPX5 rated, extreme conditions or improper sealing can affect performance. Allow the light to dry completely before attempting to use it again.
