5. Setup and Charging

5.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the trimmer for approximately 2 hours. The LED display will show the charging progress.

  1. Ensure the trimmer is switched OFF.
  2. Insert the USB charging cable into the charging port at the bottom of the trimmer.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a suitable USB power source (e.g., laptop, USB wall adapter, power bank, car charger).
  4. The LED display will illuminate, showing the battery percentage increasing during charging.
  5. Once fully charged (100%), disconnect the charging cable.

5.2 Attaching Guide Combs

The VGR V-976 comes with 4 guide combs for different cutting lengths:

  • 1.5mm (0.06 inch)
  • 3mm (0.12 inch)
  • 4.5mm (0.18 inch)
  • 6mm (0.24 inch)

To attach a guide comb, align the comb with the trimmer blade and push it firmly until it clicks into place. To remove, gently pull the comb away from the blade.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation

  1. Ensure the trimmer is fully charged or connected to a power source for corded use.
  2. Select the desired guide comb and attach it securely. For a 0mm trim, use without a comb.
  3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the trimmer. The LED display will show the current battery level.
  4. Hold the trimmer with the blades pointing downwards and against the hair.
  5. Move the trimmer slowly against the direction of hair growth for an even cut.
  6. For beard trimming, proceed with caution, especially if you have sensitive skin or pimples.
  7. After use, press the ON/OFF button to turn off the trimmer.

6.2 LED Display Information

The digital LED display provides important information:

  • Battery Percentage: Shows the remaining battery charge, allowing you to monitor usage and recharge in time.
  • Oil Reminder: An icon may appear to indicate when the blades need lubrication.
  • Charging Indicator: The battery percentage will increase while charging.

7. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your trimmer.

  1. Turn Off and Unplug: Always ensure the trimmer is switched off and unplugged from the power source before cleaning.
  2. Remove Guide Comb: Detach any attached guide combs.
  3. Clean Blades: Use the provided cleaning brush to remove loose hairs from the blades and the trimmer head.
  4. Lubricate Blades: After every few uses, or when the oil reminder appears on the LED display, apply a few drops of the lubricating oil onto the blades. Turn on the trimmer for a few seconds to distribute the oil evenly. This helps maintain blade sharpness and smooth operation.
  5. Wipe Body: Wipe the body of the trimmer with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the trimmer in water.
  6. Storage: Store the trimmer in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
