Installation Guide

Follow these steps carefully to install your Redragon CCW-3011 ARGB 240mm Water Cooler. Ensure your system is powered off and unplugged before beginning installation.

1. Prepare Your CPU and Motherboard

  • Identify your CPU socket type. The CCW-3011 supports:
    • INTEL: LGA 1366, 115x (1150, 1151, 1155, 1156), 1200, 1700, 2066, 2011
    • AMD: AM2, AM3, AM4, AM5
  • Install the appropriate backplate and mounting brackets for your CPU socket as per the included hardware guide (not detailed here, refer to physical manual for specific bracket installation).
  • Clean the CPU surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove any old thermal paste.
  • Apply a small amount of thermal paste (pea-sized dot) to the center of the CPU's integrated heat spreader (IHS).

2. Mount the Radiator and Fans

The 240mm radiator with pre-installed fans should be mounted to an available 240mm fan mount location in your PC case, typically at the top or front.

  • Secure the radiator to your case using the provided screws. Ensure proper airflow direction (intake or exhaust) based on your case's cooling design.
  • The fans are pre-installed on the radiator.

3. Install the Pump Block

Carefully place the pump block onto the CPU, aligning it with the mounting posts or screws.

  • Tighten the mounting screws in a diagonal pattern until the pump block is firmly seated and makes good contact with the CPU. Do not overtighten.

4. Connect Cables

  • Connect the pump power cable (12V) to an available CPU_FAN or AIO_PUMP header on your motherboard.
  • Connect the pump ARGB cable (5V) to a compatible 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard.
  • Connect the fan power cables (4-pin) to available fan headers on your motherboard or a fan controller.
  • Connect the fan ARGB cables to a compatible 3-pin ARGB header or an ARGB controller.

Operating Instructions

Once installed, the Redragon CCW-3011 water cooler operates automatically to maintain optimal CPU temperatures. The ARGB lighting can be customized.

Power On and Initial Check

  • After installation, double-check all cable connections.
  • Power on your computer. The fans and pump block should illuminate and begin operating.
  • Monitor CPU temperatures using system monitoring software to ensure the cooler is functioning correctly.

ARGB Lighting Control

The Addressable RGB (ARGB) lighting on the fans and pump block can be controlled via your motherboard's ARGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync) or a dedicated ARGB controller (if included or purchased separately). Refer to your motherboard's manual for specific software instructions.

The pump block is optimized for low noise operation, ensuring quiet performance even under load.

Care and Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your water cooler.

  • Dust Cleaning: Periodically (every 3-6 months, or more frequently in dusty environments) clean the radiator fins and fan blades. Use compressed air to blow dust out of the radiator. Ensure fans are not spinning rapidly during cleaning to prevent damage.
  • Close-up of Redragon CCW-3011 radiator fins

Figure 4: Close-up view of the radiator fins, illustrating the area that requires periodic dust cleaning for optimal heat dissipation.

  • Tube Inspection: Visually inspect the tubing for any kinks, leaks, or signs of wear. While rare, addressing these issues early can prevent system damage.
  • Thermal Paste: Re-applying thermal paste is generally not required unless the cooler is removed from the CPU. If you remount the cooler, clean off old thermal paste and apply new paste.
  • General Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the pump block and fans with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Redragon CCW-3011 water cooler, refer to the common problems and solutions below.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
High CPU Temperatures
  • Poor thermal paste application
  • Pump not running
  • Fans not spinning or insufficient airflow
  • Radiator clogged with dust
  • Re-apply thermal paste.
  • Check pump power connection (12V header).
  • Verify fan connections and ensure they are spinning. Clean radiator.
  • Clean radiator fins with compressed air.
Fans or Pump ARGB Not Lighting Up
  • ARGB cable disconnected or connected incorrectly
  • Motherboard ARGB header issue
  • Software conflict
  • Ensure 5V ARGB cable is securely connected to the correct header.
  • Test with another ARGB device if possible, or check motherboard manual.
  • Close other RGB software and try controlling with one application.
Unusual Noise from Cooler
  • Fan bearing noise
  • Pump cavitation (air bubbles)
  • Loose mounting screws
  • Inspect fans for obstructions. If noise persists, fans may need replacement.
  • Gently tilt the PC case to help dislodge air bubbles from the pump.
  • Ensure all mounting screws are tightened appropriately.
