1. Introduction
The Bresser MeteoTemp Baro HZ Color Weather Station provides comprehensive weather and indoor climate monitoring. This device displays key data on a vibrant color screen, including barometric pressure and detailed weather forecasts. It also features functional additions such as automatic time setting and an integrated alarm clock.
The graphical weather forecast, featuring a weather frog, visually indicates current and predicted conditions. For more detailed insights, the integrated barometer's measurement history provides crucial information on weather trends. An included wireless outdoor sensor, with an effective range of up to 80 meters, reliably measures outdoor temperature and humidity. This sensor also features its own display for direct readings.
For indoor climate control, the base station incorporates a thermometer and hygrometer. A comfort indicator, represented by a smiley icon, helps assess indoor air quality. The station is equipped with a radio-controlled clock for accurate timekeeping and includes alarm functions.
2. What's in the Box
- Bresser MeteoTemp Baro HZ Base Station
- Wireless Outdoor Sensor
- AC Power Adapter
- Instruction Manual
Note: Batteries for both the base station (3x AAA) and the outdoor sensor (2x AAA) are not included and must be purchased separately.

3. Setup
3.1 Powering the Base Station
- Insert 3x AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the back of the base station. Observe correct polarity.
- For continuous display backlight and optimal functionality, connect the included AC power adapter to the base station and plug it into a power outlet.
Important: When operating on batteries alone, the display backlight will only activate temporarily (approx. 5 seconds) when a button is pressed to conserve power. For a continuously lit display, AC power is required.
3.2 Powering the Outdoor Sensor
- Insert 2x AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor. Observe correct polarity.
- Select a channel (1, 2, or 3) using the switch inside the battery compartment. If using only one sensor, select channel 1.

3.3 Pairing the Outdoor Sensor
After powering both units, the base station will automatically attempt to connect with the outdoor sensor. Ensure both units are within range (up to 80m in open air). If connection is not established automatically, press the 'CH' button on the base station to initiate a manual search for the sensor. The outdoor temperature and humidity should appear on the base station's display.
3.4 Initial Time and Date Setting
The base station is equipped with a radio-controlled clock (DCF77 signal). Upon initial power-up, it will attempt to synchronize the time automatically. This process may take several minutes or even hours depending on signal strength. If automatic synchronization fails or is not desired, the time and date can be set manually using the 'MODE' and 'SET' buttons (refer to the detailed manual for specific steps).
3.5 City Selection for Astronomical Data
To display accurate sunrise/sunset times, moon phases, and tide information, you need to select your nearest city. Press the 'CITY' button to enter city selection mode. Use the UP/DOWN buttons to scroll through the list of pre-programmed cities. Alternatively, you can manually input your latitude and longitude for precise local data (refer to the detailed manual for manual input instructions).
3.6 Display Brightness
When powered by the AC adapter, the display brightness can be adjusted. Typically, a touch-sensitive area (often labeled 'SNOOZE' or similar) on the top of the unit allows cycling through brightness levels (bright, dim, off). This feature is not available when operating on battery power.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Reading the Display

Image 4: Detailed view of the color display showing various weather data.
The color display is organized into several sections:
- Time and Date: Located at the top right.
- Weather Forecast: Graphical icons (e.g., sun, clouds, rain) and a 'weather frog' indicator at the top center.
- Indoor Temperature and Humidity: Displayed on the left side, often with a comfort indicator (smiley).
- Outdoor Temperature and Humidity: Displayed on the right side, corresponding to the selected outdoor sensor channel.
- Barometric Pressure: Shows current pressure and a history graph, usually in hPa/mb.
- Astronomical Data: Sunrise/sunset times, moon phases, and tide information (if city is set).
4.2 Alarm Function
The station includes an alarm clock function. To set an alarm, press the 'ALARM' button (or similar, refer to the specific button layout in your manual) and use the UP/DOWN buttons to adjust the alarm time. Press 'ALARM' again to confirm. The snooze function is typically activated by pressing the top touch-sensitive area when the alarm sounds.
4.3 Barometer History
The integrated barometer tracks atmospheric pressure changes over time. This history is displayed graphically, providing insights into potential weather trends. A rising pressure generally indicates improving weather, while falling pressure suggests deteriorating conditions.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the base station and outdoor sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the display or casing. Ensure the devices are dry before reconnecting power.
5.2 Battery Replacement
Replace batteries in both the base station and outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always replace all batteries in a unit at the same time with new ones of the same type. Dispose of old batteries responsibly.
5.3 Outdoor Sensor Placement
The outdoor sensor is IP44 rated for water resistance and splash-proof protection. For accurate readings and longevity, place the sensor in a shaded area, protected from direct sunlight and heavy precipitation. Ensure it is mounted securely and within the 80m range of the base station.

6. Troubleshooting
- No outdoor temperature/humidity displayed:
Ensure batteries are correctly inserted in the outdoor sensor and base station. Check that the outdoor sensor is on the same channel as the base station. Press the 'CH' button on the base station to re-initiate pairing. Move the sensor closer to the base station to rule out range issues. - Display is dim or turns off quickly:
If operating on batteries, this is normal behavior to conserve power. Connect the AC power adapter for a continuously lit and adjustable display. - Radio-controlled time (DCF77) not synchronizing:
Ensure the base station is placed away from electronic devices that may cause interference. Try placing the unit near a window. Manual time setting is available if automatic synchronization is consistently unsuccessful. - Temperature/humidity readings seem inaccurate:
Allow both units to stabilize for at least 30 minutes after setup. Ensure the outdoor sensor is not in direct sunlight or exposed to extreme heat sources, which can skew readings. Minor discrepancies between indoor and outdoor readings are normal due to different environmental conditions. - City data (sunrise/sunset/moon/tides) is incorrect or missing:
Verify that the correct city has been selected in the settings. If your specific city is not listed, select the nearest major city or manually input latitude/longitude.
